Kevin Kolb Trade Speculation: Eagles' Best Possible Deal Involves Cardinals

Frank PassalacquaJun 1, 2011

Everybody who follows the NFL knows the situation surrounding Kevin Kolb. Arizona so far sounds like the most likely place for him to land, and he knows it.

Now Andy Reid has stated that Kolb isn't a bust and that they expect a good deal in the trade. What the Eagles are asking for is either for a future first-round draft pick or two second-round draft picks.

Any team seeing that must surely be in dire need of a quarterback, because that is a lot to sacrifice.

But with Philadelphia needing obvious help in the defensive backfield, why not think about this trade proposal?

Trade Kolb to Arizona for a second- or third-round draft pick at worst and get CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in return. Bam, done deal.

That then leaves Raiders CB Nnamdi Asomugha still on the market, but a top corner like Rodgers-Cromartie can surely help as well.

Of course, nothing is set in stone as of now, but this to me seems like the most reasonable deal to make. Honestly, Kolb is not worth a first-round pick, unless you are the Browns, Seattle or Arizona. But that is really a big thing to give up.

A second- or third-round pick is more plausible, and including a top player could make any team happy. Kolb will not be an Eagle next year, and everyone knows that.

Why is Kolb out on the practice field instead of Michael Vick? Kolb wants attention. No, he is not "working out" to better his skills. He is just giving himself a better look so cameras and media can eat him up.

Kolb, it is your time to shine. Unfortunately, Philadelphia was not the place you saw yourself playing. It is Vick's city, and Kolb will need to seek life elsewhere—in the West.
