2011 NBA Finals: The Sports World Will End if the Miami Heat Win the NBA Finals

Tony SantorsaMay 28, 2011

It's almost complete. David Stern is getting exactly what he wants: LeBron James and Dwyane Wade leading the Miami Heat to an NBA championship.

I am going to make this very clear: I am a strong believer in the NBA conspiracy. The NBA, led by Stern and the league officials, along with the help of the referees will do everything in their power to get their superstars in the NBA Finals. Whether it's James, Wade, Kobe Bryant or Dwight Howard—the NBA will do everything they can to make it happen.

This is completely and utterly disgusting. The game of basketball is such a great sport and I truly enjoy watching it, but the NBA has completely ruined it for me—or at least Stern and his team of minions have.

I am sorry for all the true Miami Heat fans are there—and that's a very small number—but if the Heat win the NBA Finals, it will be the most horrific thing that could happen to the wonderful sport of basketball.

Honestly, how many true Heat fans are out there? Not too many.

It's actually kind of funny, once the Heat acquire James and Chris Bosh, the Miami Heat fan base suddenly erupted and escalated into a giant following.

The 2011 season was definitely success financially for the Heat, as they averaged 19,778 fans per game. While, in 2010 the Heat averaged 17,730, and in 2009 they averaged 18,229—definitely a major difference thanks to the addition of James.

How many of those fans are real Heat fans? Maybe half? Who knows.

Going to a Heat game this season was almost like the "cool thing to do." Business CEOs attended the games with their Blackberrys attached to their hips and they would jump up every time James dunked the ball. And the other half are simply James' fans—people who are not real fans of any team, they just like James simply because he's a super-star and "the league's best player."

However, is James really the NBA's best player?

Sure, James put up impressive numbers as he averaged 26.7 points per-game, 7.5 rebounds per game and 7.0 assists per game. But, does the league's best player only finish 21st for shooting percentage?

James shot 51 percent from the field, which was only good enough for 21st. So, if James is just an above average shooter, where does all his points come from?

And we go back to the conspiracy, James' points from the charity stripe.

James finished with the fifth most free throws in the NBA, and Wade finished very conveniently right behind him at sixth. And what about Bosh? He finished 14th.

So, the Miami Heat had three players in the top 15 for free throw attempts—shouldn't that raise a few eyebrows?

Ever since James came into the league, and was said to be the "next Michael Jordan," he has been extremely underachieving and very overrated.

James made a fool out of himself starting back earlier last summer when he walked off the floor in Boston while he took of his Cleveland Cavilers jersey. From that point on, James has proved to be the most egocentric player in the NBA—and "The Decision" simply topped it off.

When James joined the Heat, he made some bold predictions at a team event when he predicted that the Heat will win seven plus NBA titles—that may have been the most absurd thing I have ever seen.

The NBA is ruining the amazing game of basketball, and it's really sickening to watch. If the Miami Heat win the NBA Finals this year, giving James his first NBA title, the sports wold might as well end.
