New England Patriots: Wes Welker Is Not Concerned About Contract
New England Patriots Pro Bowl wide receiver Wes Welker made a rare media appearance during an offseason of uncertainty at his Old Spice football camp in Peabody, Massachusetts.
During his youth football camp, Welker was asked about his current contract situation and a possible extension with the Patriots—which is rather interesting considering the current labor situation that NFL is in right now.
"I'm really not worried about it at all," Welker said regarding his current contract. "I enjoy playing ball. Whenever it comes, it comes. Really it's probably the last thing on my mind."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
It's definitely good news to hear that Welker does not want the media to be involved with contract talks—especially after what former wide receiver Randy Moss did last season.
Welker went onto discuss the current lockout and he described it as "frustrating" and that he's right there with the fans and is ready to get back to work.
As to getting back to work, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston, Welker and quarterback Tom Brady have been in contact and are planning to meet up for a workout in the near future.
Welker will enter his fifth year as a New England Patriot next season with the Patriots and it will be second season coming off of a re-constructive knee surgery. Welker reeled in 86 balls last season, which was is a Patriot career-low for the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver—it was the first time Welker didn't eclipse 100 receptions in a Patriot uniform. Welker will look to improve on a much better note in 2011.
