NBA Draft 2011: Derrick Williams' Top 5 Dunks (with Video)
With the 2011 NBA draft just over a month away, it's time to start looking at some of the best plays turned in by potential draft picks.
Former University of Arizona big man Derrick Williams had many highlight reel dunks while playing for the Wildcats, as you will see from this list.
Here is my list of the top five dunks in Williams' college career.
Enjoy.
5. "Monster Dunk" vs. Duke (3/24/11)
1 of 5This dunk showcases both the power and explosiveness that Derek Williams possesses in his arsenal.
In the play, he just blows by his defender and marches down the lane on the way to a rim-rocking jam against the Blue Devils.
NBA defenses will have to be stronger than this against Williams if they want to have success against him in the future.
4. One-Handed Rebound Dunk vs. Duke (3/24/11)
2 of 5I feel bad for Kyle Singler on this play, I really do.
He is looking around for the ball, and then all of a sudden, here comes Williams in for the monster finish.
This dunk definitely shows you that you have to get a body on Derrick Williams, or he will make you pay big time.
3. One-Handed Jam vs. Washington State (1/8/10)
3 of 5Williams shows his freakish athletic ability in this dunk against the Washington State Cougars back in 2010.
He makes Wazzu forward James Watson look very pedestrian as he just reaches over him and slams it down.
An amazing play to say the least.
2. 360 Dunk vs. Bethune Cookman (11/23/10)
4 of 5The best thing about this dunk by Williams is how easy he makes it look.
We are talking about a 360-spin, with a defender in the area, and then a throw-down—not exactly the easiest thing to master.
However, Williams perfected it, and this is why he is such an explosive player when he gets into the open floor.
1. One-Handed Alley-Oop Dunk vs. UCLA (1/27/11)
5 of 5Williams shows off his amazing vertical hops in this insane dunk against the Bruins last season.
As the commentator says, he catches the ball from nearly the bottom of the backboard and still corralled it with one hand and slammed it home.
Easily one of the best dunks that I have ever seen.
