Miami Dolphins: Fins Great Don Shula Doesn't Really Like Bill Parcells
Bill Parcells' reign in South Beach as Vice President of Football Operations was one that was welcomed with open arms in Miami. And it wasn't all that bad, either.
In Parcells' first year with the Dolphins in 2008, the ship was righted in South Florida, as offensive lineman Jake Long was selected as the first pick in the '08 draft, and the Dolphins made their first playoff appearance in nearly a decade.
Ever since that time, though, the Fins seem to be underachieving, and gradually, Parcells' role with the team became smaller, at his discretion.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Of course, the Dolphins are kind of looking pretty...they recently had a solid draft, as they picked up weaponry for the offense, adding key pieces to a team that was terrible in the red zone last season.
However, not many Dolphins fans can forget how Parcells left. The Big Tuna basically snuck his way out of Miami, leaving the team, as well as the foundation he built.
Of course, many Fins' faithful didn't like it. You can count Don Shula in that group, as well.
"It seemed like he bailed,” Shula told the Miami Herald.
Hell, I'd be disappointed, too. Parcells left pretty quickly, and it's not like the organization was slowly falling apart.
Chad Henne's still a starter in Miami, someone that Tuna hand-selected in the 2008 draft.
Tony Sparano is still the coach, and he's seemed to have done a damn fine job, although offensive coordinator Dan Henning was super sketchy in his play-calling over the past two years.
I guess you can't blame him...perhaps he had some sort of obligations that grew beyond football. Parcells is a family man, damn it!
I have to agree with Don Shula, though. Parcells seemed to have wussed out when he realized he wasn't going to get a Super Bowl with this team for at least another two or three years.
There were obvious holes, and Parcells may have been put under pressure to fill them.
Either way, Parcells bailed, and Don Shula ain't happy about it. And while DolFan-nation isn't either, we can at least enjoy the foundation the bro laid in South Beach.
