LeBron James: Miami Heat Star Confirms Bromance with Dwyane Wade
LeBron James Reveals Real Reasons For Taking Talents to South Beach
LeBron James found himself in the midst of a media firestorm last offseason, after stabbing Cavs fans in the back to "Take his talents to South Beach."
Now, we've found out a bit more about why: a potential bromance between James and Dwyane Wade.
James all but admitted as much to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, according to Pro Basketball Talk.
Per the report:
"“It’s not a bed of roses with me and (Wade) and (Chris Bosh). We get on each other if we feel like they’re not doing their job,” James said. “We feel like it is constructive criticism that we need to have for one another to have a productive team. Anytime you have new teammates, it doesn’t matter if you’re friends or not, you have to realize certain people react to certain situations. Some people can be yelled at and still play, some people you have to do it in a certain way.”
"
But, from there, we learn that it's Bosh who needs the kid gloves, since Wade admits to dishing it out, too.
"“There’s been times where he’s gotten on me for something and vice versa,” Wade said.
“If I make a mistake and he calls me out on it … I might say you’re right. Sometimes I won’t agree with him and I’ll say, 'I don’t agree,' and we’ll move on. We’ll come back later and we’ll discuss it. We’re not always patting each other on the back. Our job is to get the best out of each other so when we seen an opportunity to do that, we have to be leaders and step up and do that.”
"
Pro Basketball talk goes on to point out the parallels between James and Wade's relationship as a marriage, because of the way they fight "like an old married couple." But why stop there? Why not take the joke a bit further, and draw some more parallels between James and Wade as a marriage?
Maybe, James was just looking for someone to verbally spar with, so they can go play makeup HORSE. If they're a married couple, what does that make Chris Bosh? My money's on the awkward surrogate child, since James isn't allowed to yell at him or injure his fragile psyche.
It therefore makes Zydrunas Ilgauskas Wade's mother-in law (he's older than Bron Bron, and was the big star in Cleveland before he came along), while Pat Riley is clearly the Godfather in the whole relationship.
Erik Spoelstra is the marriage counselor who took on the job, but didn't realize just how dysfunctional the relationship would be, or the fact that he's probably bit off more than he could chew by agreeing to it. But, darn it if he's not going to try.
How often do feelings get hurt in this relationship? Has LeBron ever had to sleep on the sofa? Who mows the lawn, or takes out the trash?
At least this marriage has worked out pretty well so far, as the Heat are sitting pretty after Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal clash with the Boston Celtics. But, if things start to go south, Spoelstra might have to break out the foam bats for another round of counseling.
