A dark cloud as fallen upon the WWE Universe.
The "Era of Awesomeness" has ended as The Miz was defeated by John Cena inside the steel cage and lost his precious WWE championship tonight.

Another participant was also robbed. John Morrison was attacked by R-Truth and denied a taste of gold yet again.
Now comes the time for both men to pick themselves up by their chakras and move on to the next chapter of their young careers.
I was expecting Truth's interference tonight. Any smart man or woman could have guessed he'd cause JoMo his chance and now they will surely embark on a feud that could continue into the summer.
In three weeks at Over the Limit, we will see John Morrison get some much needed payback against R-Truth, but what kind of match will we have?
It is going to get vicious now and I hope all that aggressiveness will be displayed all the way until July for Money in the Bank, where I hope Morrison finally wins.
There is still doubt in my mind as to when JoMo will be a main-eventer. I don't like his look right now. I love his moves and he ALWAYS delivers a great match but something needs to change. Maybe a shave and a haircut? A change of pants? Or better yet, change of attitude.![]()
Time will tell.
What lies ahead now for former WWE Champion The Miz?
The Awesome One will not take this lightly. He is guaranteed a rematch and with the recent promotional poster for Over the Limit with his face all over it, where I hope he does battle with John Cena.
I was watching the match tonight and noticed how the crowd seemed to get behind him as he was trading punches with John Cena atop the cage. People are definitely taking him seriously and there are many who dislike Captain WWE if not more than The Miz.
If I were a betting man I'd say this now paves the way for two things:
A John Cena-Alberto Del Rio feud this summer
and
The Miz turning somewhat babyface to counter Del Rio's rise to power.
There can be only one top "heel" and the Chick Magnet has not said his last words just yet.
Make no mistake about it, John Cena has a transitional reign at best. With Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk and The Miz in front of him, there will be no escape.
In the meantime, a CM Punk-The Miz feud over the summer would be music to my ears.
Earliest and boldest prediction for 2012: The Miz wins the Royal Rumble match.
Tomorrow night is The Rock's birthday bash on RAW. How will the three participants of tonight's main event deal with the outcome? Will there be hell to pay for R-Truth and WWE Champion John Cena?
Tune in at 9pm to find out.
