Fantasy Football: Biggest Losers After Round One of the NFL Draft
The first round saw four QBs go off the board along with three WRs and just one RB. Not exactly prolific from a fantasy perspective, but some of the picks were surprises and stand to shake up the fantasy football ranks.
Here is FFSpin.com take on the biggest losers after round one of the 2011 draft.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Jerome Simpson
Chad Ochocinco's sensitive feelings are probably really, really hurt now. It's Jerome Simpson who should be most distressed by the selection of A.J. Green, however.
Chad is on the downside of his career and there is little chance that he was going to remain in Bengal stripes even before the selection of the No. 1 receiver in the draft. As a matter of fact, if this helps assure Ochocinco's exit, he might be considered a winner.
The Bengals are a mess and there are plenty of situations where he could end up with more fantasy potential. Simpson was considered a strong sleeper candidate by many entering the 2011 draft season.
He took a little while to get up to speed by the 6'2", 195 lb receiver showed flashes of his potential in his third year.
He should still enjoy some success in 2011 and moving forward as he has an excellent shot at being the team's WR#2.
Sleeper worthy? Not unless the Bengals get a QB that can spread the ball effectively and go pass heavy.
Pierre Thomas
For Reggie Bush, see the Ochocinco comments above (only tone them down in every sense since the Saints are not a mess and Bush probably will not have as much fantasy potential as Ochocinco if he lands on a team like the Patriots).
Bush was probably gone already and the next Heisman winner who will taking his place on the Saints roster will have to contend with Chris Ivory and Pierre Thomas in a RBBC.
Any chance that Pierre Thomas had of recapturing his 2009 magic is gone. There is a chance he will not even be on the Saints roster, although most believe he will be there for 2011.
Jimmy Clausen
Was Jimmy ever a winner to begin with? Plenty of people think that while the Panthers needed a franchise QB, Cam Newton was not the way to go. Either way, Clausen's shot at being the Panthers franchise QB is over.
Newton is probably going to start from day one, since Clausen in just his second year doesn't represent a guy that Newton can learn from as an understudy. Plus the Panthers need to sell tickets.
Kenny Britt
This guy is a loser for a lot of reasons, his off the field troubles being first and foremost. Now, however, he will have a rookie throwing to him and a rookie that needs a bit of polish at that.
Britt is extremely talented but even if he does play, the possibility of both league mandated suspension and prison loom large, he probably won't realize his full potential with Jake Locker at the helm, at least in year one.
His fantasy value for 2011 takes a big hit and how Locker performs will determine his long term value. Oh yeah, and if he can stay out of jail.
He has the talent to be a fantasy WR#1, he will probably be drafted as a fantasy WR#3 depending on length of suspension.
Donovan McNabb
The best opportunity for McNabb to revive his slumping career was the Minnesota Vikings. With Christian Ponder on board, they have no need for an expensive veteran addition.
The Cardinals and Bengals are still in need of a QB, at least one of them should fill that position with Andy Dalton or Colin Kaepernick in a few hours. Former teammate Kevin Kolb is much more desirable to teams at this point, so the pickings are getting slim for McNabb.
David Garrard
We think the Jags incumbent will start the season as the Jaguars number one QB with that caveat that he will have a short leash. Blaine Gabbert is clearly the future, it's just a matter of what philosophy the Jags subscribe to; start the rookie right away or let him learn the ropes for a year.
Either way, Garrard's days are in sunny Jacksonville are limited and so too are his chances of being a starting QB in the NFL. It's not impossible to picture Garrard starting somewhere else in 2012; he is serviceable as a starting QB.
Michael Jenkins
This seven year vet is sort of a "hanger on." Nothing spectacular of but he has gotten the scraps that Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez leave behind.
And, those scraps have been ample enough to make Jenkins a 50 reception guy that you keep on your fantasy roster as a bye week/injury fill in, but not a regular starter in all but very deep leagues.
Not any longer. His 50 receptions will go to Julio Jones in 2011. Jenkins will be reduced to supporting role and should see his production more than cut in half.
