NCAA Bracket 2011: Sweet 16 Upsets That Are Very Likely to Happen
The NCAA tournament started off a little slow in terms of upsets. Except for Richmond and Morehead State on the first day, there really weren't any at all to start the tournament.
Now, there is already a No. 8 and No. 5 seed playing in the Elite Eight. Not to mention, two No. 1 seeds have gone down in the process.
With four games left in the Sweet 16, there are more upsets on the way.
(11) VCU over (10) Florida State
1 of 2
Although the No. 11 seed VCU Rams are playing the No. 10 seed Florida State Seminoles, it would still be an upset for the Rams to win.
If Florida State was to lose in the regular season against VCU it would be considered a pretty big upset. However, in the NCAA tournament it is not so much of an upset, especially the way the Rams have been playing.
However, no one expected VCU to make it this far, and if the Rams made it into the Elite Eight, they would shock the world.
The Florida State Seminoles have arguably the best defense in all of college basketball, but their offense is not at all as good. The Seminoles managed to not only play good defense against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but good offense as well.
The Seminoles cannot keep this offense up or they are going to get beat by the pesky Rams. The Rams have way to many scorers right now, with their five starters averaging more than 10 points per game on the season, to be outscored by the Seminoles.
Not to mention, other than Ohio State, the VCU Rams have looked like the best team in the nation. They have won their three tournament games by an average of 16.3 PPG.
The VCU Rams are looking like one of the best teams in the nation and they are going to upset the Seminoles to move onto the Elite Eight.
(4) Kentucky over (1) Ohio State
2 of 2
Although the Kentucky Wildcats are playing the No. 1 team in the nation, they are going to give the Ohio State Buckeyes all they can handle.
If the Wildcats can shut down Jared Sullinger or somehow get him into foul trouble, they will be in good shape.
To win this game, Kentucky also has to stop Ohio State from making so many three-pointers. However, this will be really tough, since the Buckeyes shoot very well from behind the arc.
Brandon Knight needs to have a good scoring game for the Wildcats to move on. He also has to be the leader for the Wildcats.
The Buckeyes are playing very good basketball right now and they are blowing teams out. Their offense is in perfect sync and their defense looks just as good. It will be a very tough game for the Wildcats to win, but people don't call it an upset for nothing.
Kentucky is getting better and better every game they play, and they are going to have their best game of the season against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Look for the Kentucky Wildcats to upset the Ohio State Buckeyes in this game.
