
Kemba Walker: UConn Star's Most Memorable Moments
If the Big East tournament taught us anything, it is that UConn guard Kemba Walker is one of the best players in the nation. After taking home tournament MVP honors, Walker leads his Huskies into the NCAA tournament this Thursday.
Before looking ahead to the Big Dance, however, it is essential to look back at Walker's season, from early non-conference play to this past weekend. All of UConn and Walker's biggest moments are documented here, with video clips of the best plays.
November 11, 2010: Vermont @ UConn
1 of 13Walker lights up the XL Center with a career-high 42 points, and leads a frenzied Huskies second-half comeback en route to a 89-73 victory that is closer than it looks.

November 23, 2010: UConn Vs. Michigan State, Maui Invitational

The Huskies, unranked and under appreciated, take down #2 Michigan State on the strength of Walker's 31 points, the biggest of which came on a key jumper with a minute left to play in a 70-67 upset.

November 24, 2010: UConn Vs. Kentucky, Maui Invitational

Just one game after becoming the third UConn player in the past 50 years to record 30 points or more in three straight games, Walker almost nabs a fourth with a 29-point effort in a 84-67 win over Kentucky in the tournament championship.

December 3, 2010: UMBC @ UConn

A 94-61 blowout victory over the lowly Retrievers is mostly significant for Walker's first career triple-double. Walker also becomes the 45th UConn player to tally 1,000 career points.

January 8, 2011: UConn @ Texas
5 of 13After a forgettable two halves, Walker's Huskies head to overtime against the Longhorns knotted up 73-73. In the extra period, Walker scores seven of his 22 total points, including an amazing three-point heave and an unforgettable step back game-winner.

January 15, 2011: UConn @ DePaul

Walker matches his conference play career high with 31 points (scoring 22 of them in the first half) and gets a lot of support from his teammates in a 82-62 laugher on the road.

January 17, 2011: Villanova @ UConn
7 of 13Despite a poor shooting performance, Walker comes through with a 10-foot floater with two and a half seconds remaining to stun Villanova in Hartford, 61-59.

February 16, 2011: Georgetown @ UConn
8 of 13Walker provides several highlights in a 78-70 victory at the XL Center, including a nifty converted pass to himself off of the backboard. UConn's win snaps the Hoyas' eight-game winning streak.

March 5, 2011: Notre Dame @ UConn

Against a tough Irish team, Walker scores the Huskies' first seven points en route to totaling 34 on the night, one more than the 33 points the rest of his team puts up. A missed three in the final seconds stings as UConn goes down 70-67.

March 9, 2011: UConn Vs. Georgetown, Big East Tournament

After getting snubbed in favor of Notre Dame's Ben Hansbrough for Big East player of the year, Walker explodes for 28 points in the second round of the conference tournament for the Huskies' second win over Georgetown in less than a month.

March 10, 2011: UConn Vs. Pittsburgh, Big East Tournament
11 of 13After a hard-fought contest, Walker takes down top-seeded Pittsburgh with an ankle-breaking fadeaway as time runs out for a 76-74 victory. Everyone knows who is going to get the ball, but Walker still comes through with arguably the most clutch shot of the year.

March 11, 2011: UConn Vs. Syracuse, Big East Tournament
12 of 13Two years after their epic six-overtime tilt in the 2009 Big East tournament, Syracuse and UConn battle to a tie at the end of regulation. In perhaps the best performance of his career, Walker makes sure no more than one extra period is needed, as he hits four big overtime free throws in a 76-71 win.
Final stat line: 33 points (9-18 shooting), 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 steals
March 12, 2011: UConn Vs. Louisville, Big East Championship
13 of 13It isn't easy for Connecticut to win their fifth game in five days, but Walker fights through his exhaustion and delivers a beautiful wraparound pass for the game-winning assist. The MVP trophy awarded to him after the game is an afterthought; who else was going to win it?
