NCAA Bracket 2011 Predictions: Top 10 Teams Ripe for Upsets
So you've filled out your bracket and you think you have a chance at winning your office pool, when two of your Final Four teams are knocked out in the first round.
Don't let that happen to you again this year.
Read this slideshow and be ready for those bracket-busting upsets.
Here are 10 teams ripe for an upset.
Texas
1 of 10
Every year, a 13 seed will beat a 4 seed.
This upset is not as much about how bad Texas is, but more about how good Oakland is.
The Golden Grizzlies score a ton of points and they shoot the ball really well.
That contrast from what the Longhorns are used to seeing could prove to be fatal for Texas.
Wisconsin
2 of 10
Another 13 over a 4 to look out for is Belmont over Wisconsin.
Again, Belmont is a good shooting team that has won a ton of games this year.
Most of Belmont's losses have come to teams in the Big Dance, and they may be due for a win.
Temple
3 of 10
It's always a good idea to look for higher seeded teams that come from less-competitive conferences.
Temple, the 7 seed, versus Penn State, the 10 seed, is a good example.
Other than a loss to Ohio State in the Big Ten championship, Penn State has been hot lately.
Plus, guard Talor Battle has NBA talent. Watch him go off against Temple and cause an upset.
Kentucky
4 of 10
Maybe it's a bit of a long shot, but I do not see Kentucky as a Sweet 16 team and Ivy League teams can be unpredictable.
I'm calling this one an upset as Princeton should be victorious over Kentucky.
Call it a hunch.
Georgetown
5 of 10
I called the Hoyas a possible Final Four team a couple of weeks ago, so I guess I'm going back on my word.
Maybe.
If USC goes on to play Georgetown, the Trojans, with big man Nikola Vucevic, could upset the Hoyas.
However, I do see Georgetown beating VCU.
North Carolina
6 of 10
The Tar Heels have the toughest first round game of any two-seed in the tournament.
LIU is a fast paced, high scoring team.
Julian Boyd, the Blackbirds star guard, has NBA athleticism.
Watch for him to lead his team to an upset over UNC.
Florida
7 of 10
The Florida Gators will get out of the first round.
The Gators will not win their second round game, though.
They will play either UCLA or Michigan State.
I see Michigan State beating both UCLA and Florida, because Tom Izzo seems to always have his teams ready for March.
Pittsburgh
8 of 10
Pittsburgh could be the first one seed to exit the Dance.
Expect the Panthers to face Old Dominion in the second round in a dog fight.
Old Dominion is a strong rebounding team, like Pitt.
The Monarchs are no stranger to top competition and will give Pitt some trouble
Duke
9 of 10
I said Duke would not make the Final Four and I am sticking to it now that I have seen the bracket.
With no low post presence, the Blue Devils will be abused by Arizona's Derrick Williams in the Sweet 16 and Arizona will advance.
Vanderbilt
10 of 10
Richmond, at the 12 seed, has a great chance to upset Vanderbilt.
The Spiders have a young coach who played at Princeton, the famous Cinderella team from the 1990's.
Chris Mooney is ready to lead Richmond over Vanderbilt.
The Spiders also have big man Justin Harper, a 6'10" forward who scores just under 18 points per game.
