Why Tim Lincecum will win the NL Cy Young
His team isn't good. In fact, the San Fransisco Giants went 72-90 and ended up fourth in the NL west. There was two bright spots on the squad. One was Omar Vizquel breaking records during what could be his last year. The other was second year pitcher Tim Lincecum.
His final record for the season was a total of 18-5 on a team that could barely score enough runs to let him win. He had many complete games while also having many 8 and 7 inning games. He has an amazing 265 strikeouts this season compared to hs exceptional 84 walks. He also had a 2.62 ERA, shutting out teams left and right. His losses were also his problem sometimes, but the low run support didn't help.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
He has been great in a bad team, but better then some other nominees? Let us see:
Brad Lidge
He is a good nominee, even if he will lose some votes due to the fact that he is a closer. In this age where closer's don't get the full respect he probably won't win, but does he deserve it? The Phillies closer is 41 for 41 in save opportunities. In 72 games he has only given 15 earned runs. He only gave 50 hits on the season. His team is a playoff team which makes Tim have a upper leg in the race, but Brad still has a chance.
Johan Santana
The Mets Pitcher is having a good first year in the National League. He went 15-7 on the season on the almost playoff team. Also, Johan had a great end of the season. In his last 10 games starting he went 6-0. With a 2.53 ERA and 206 strikeouts and 21 less walks then Tim, he almost has better stats. He gets good run support, while Tim doesn't. The key part of Johan's campaign to being the champion is his end of the season. That streak at the end could help him win.
Brandon Webb
He is the main competition in the Cy Young race. With a 22-7 record on a average hitting team, he has to get some votes. He has a 3.30 ERA which is higher than the other guys. He gives long inning games, but I don't think he has the stats to win.
Some other notables? Newcomer Sabathia could be a shocker and Rich Harden has also been great for the Cubs.
So who will win? I hope Tim Lincecum wins because with that kind of rotation I don't know how long that arm will last. There are some good candidates for the NL Cy Young, but with a player as young, unique and with a bad team he has I would love to see him win.
