Dwyane Wade Has to Help LeBron James If the Heat Are to Win NBA Title
Dwyane Wade has to be a little disappointed in his play this year. The Miami Heat's 2006 Finals MVP has been known for his clutch play in the past. This season Wade has had the myriad of fantastic plays we are accustomed to seeing but also some inexplicably bad shooting nights to go with them.
Take for instance the season opener against the Boston Celtics—the hype surrounding the Heat was enormous. LeBron James was expected to possibly fold under the pressure of which Wade would bail him out and the Heat would win. However, it was Wade who would go 4-16 against the Eastern Conference champs. Wade finished the game with 13 points and 6 turnovers. Surprisingly LeBron James put the team on his back and almost pulled off a miracle comeback win.
This has become the motto of the Miami Heat against great teams: Give LeBron the ball and get out of the way. If the Heat are to win a title this season, James has to have some help from his partner. While Wade has looked brilliant against lesser opponents, he has struggled all season against elite defenses. James meanwhile, has continued to thrive in big games.
Wade will have to pull on his clutch gene down the stretch if Miami is to make a finals run. It is obvious Chris Bosh is not going to have the impact once thought, so success is in Dwyane Wade's hands. We wondered what the Cavaliers' fortunes might have been if James only had a legitimate sidekick in Cleveland. Well, now it is a reality. We now wonder will Wade bring home another title for Miami.
