NBA Factories: Which Schools Have the Most Players in the League?
March Madness is right around the corner, and shortly after that comes the NBA Draft. Consequently, this a good time to rank the top college basketball programs in terms of how well they produce actual NBA players, not just draft picks.
This article lists how many current NBA players each university has supplied, with four being the minimum, as well as the names of the players and which team they play for.
While making the article, I added up the number of NBA players from each of the Big Six conferences and then averaged that amount based off of how many teams are in the conference.
For example, there are 49 guys in the NBA who attended one of the Big East 16 schools in the conference. So I divided 49 by 16 to come out with an average of approximately 3.1 NBA players per Big East university.
1. Pac-10: 4.9 players per school
2. ACC: 4.6 players per school
3. SEC: 3.4 players per school
3. Big 12: 3.4 players per school
5. Big East: 3.1 players per school
6. Big Ten: 2.5 players per school
I hope you find this article insightful.
