NBA Power Rankings: Who Has the Best Dance Moves in the League?

Sam WestmorelandJun 7, 2018

It's time to take a look at some NBA power rankings!

But we're not talking wins and losses here; oh no, this is something much more important.

After all, the All-Star Game is coming up which can only mean one thing: Dance moves. Who could forget Shaq breaking it down with the Jabbawokeez in 2009, or Dwight Howard and LeBron throwing down last year?

In honor of the new moves we're sure to see this weekend, we're bringing you the 15 best dancers in the NBA. They come in all sizes, and they've all got different styles, but you won't be able to deny they're the best.

15. Mark Madsen

1 of 15

Quite possibly the greatest (and most horrifying) video ever made. Madsen's skills have never been matched.

14. Ronny Turiaf's Slow-Mo Dance

2 of 15

I don't know what's going on here, but Ronny Turiaf steals the show with his sweet moves after this Amar'e Stoudemire slam.

There's a reason they haven't invited him on Dancing With the Stars, people.

13. Deron Williams' Chicken Dance

3 of 15

It's not long and he doesn't do the whole dance, but for having his arm under ice and ace bandages, Deron does a pretty solid rendition of the chicken dance.

12. Kobe Bryant Does Salsa

4 of 15

Kobe was feeling the rhythm on La Noche de Latino, but why not stand up and do the salsa?

He gets points for rhythm, but loses points for the effort.

11. Dirk Nowitzki

5 of 15

Well, at least he's trying really hard.

He's not a terrible Mick Jagger, so this could really be a whole lot worse.

10. Glen Davis Does the Dougie

6 of 15

Big Baby brings the funk pretty well for a big man, and flashes some sweet moves here.

Why he decided to shoot a dance video, though, is beyond me. I guess this is what happens when NBA stars have webcams and lots of free time.

9. Dwyane Wade Makes It Up As He Goes

7 of 15

Celebratory dunk dances are rare on this list, but Wade pulls it off quite well.

Although, it does feel like a little bit of a rip off of Shaq's old routine.

8. DeMarcus Cousins

8 of 15

Cousins is in the purple in this video, and for a hulking center, he gets up and down pretty well. Although, sometimes he doesn't seem to be doing any particular dance, just flailing his arms.

7. Carmelo Rocks Out

9 of 15

Melo starts out a little lazy in his moves, but once the song gets rolling, it's clear he's into it in a big way.

He doesn't have the rhythm quite right yet, but the unintentional comedy here is more than enough for this high of a ranking.

6. Brandon Jennings Impresses, Disturbs Us

10 of 15

I don't know whether to be impressed by the skills, or disturbed by the entire video.

Let's just move on.

5. Nate Robinson

11 of 15

The Celtics' pint-sized guard brings the funk in a big way, evidenced by his "Chicken Noodle" dance here.

Why it's his Chicken Noodle dance, I have no idea.

4. Dwight Howard Does His Beyonce

12 of 15

Dwight Howard has long been one of the most fun NBA players, and he brings the funk like few other stars can, as you can clearly see here.

And yes, he's dancing to Beyonce.

3. John Wall Gets Down

13 of 15

How do you know John Wall can dance? He's got a move named after him.

It's not this one, but you can find it on YouTube.

2. LeBron James

14 of 15

LeBron loves dancing like Michael Jackson, and frankly, the megastar does a darned good job of mimicking Michael's moves.

I was thinking of making a "Like Mike" pun here, but that'd be too easy, wouldn't it?

1. Shaq

15 of 15

Shaq is without a doubt the best dancer in the NBA right now, and has been for a while. Even LeBron's Michael Jackson impression couldn't touch him.

Despite with his massive build, he's got better moves than anyone else, and is an objectively good dancer.

Will anyone approach the Big Baryshnikov skills? Unless LeBron hones his skills, Shaq's going to be at the top of the heap for quite some time.
