Fans at Raw were expecting a surprise appearance as they knew they were going to learn who the host of the next WrestleMania was going to be.

While circulating rumors left little suspense that it was going to be "The Rock," it didn't do anything to dampen the excitement and enthusiasm of the crowd when his name was announced.

If Dwayne Johnson had let any rust accumulate on "The Rock" in his time away from the ring, it certainly did not show.

He appeared at his baddest, buff-est, baldest and charismatic best when he made his entrance into the ring. He whipped the crowd into a frenzy by delivering all of his trademark slogans.

The moment reached a frenzied peak when he told the fans that, “I give you my word that I am never, ever going away.”

Johnson is on record as saying he will not be donning the tights and fighting again, but he certainly opened the door to speculation. He took several different moments to call out John Cena during his speech.

The natural conclusion is that he and Cena are going to tangle at WrestleMania. There is little doubt that would give the fans what they want.

"The Rock" was once the WWE's most popular wrestlers. After Monday night's appearance, it is apparent that is a throne WWE fans are more than willing to give back to him.

Given his success in movies, it would be foolish to expect him to return to the WWE full-time, but just the prospect of a part-time Rock is enough to give the WWE a needed jolt.
