Heat-Magic Recap: LeBron Has Record-Setting Night in the First Quarter
It was one of those nights for LeBron James. In the first quarter, James scored 23 points, and didn't miss a shot until his 12th field goal attempt.
James set a Miami Heat record with his 23-point first quarter. Not to mention setting a personal best by hitting his first 11 shot attempts. James ended the half with 29 points.
King James wasn't finished in the second half. James poured in 22 more points in the second half. He was also only two assists away from yet another triple-double.
The Heat had a 21-point lead in the fourth quarter and it looked as if the game was over, but it wasn't. The Orlando Magic went on a 19-4 run after the Heat had their lead at 90-69, and later in the game they cut the game down to a three point lead.
During a Heat inbound, LeBron had the ball slapped away and off of his knee which gave the Magic one more crucial possession with just over 10 seconds left on the clock.
With the Heat leading only 103-100, the Magic could not hit a three to tie up the game, and the rebound went to Dwyane Wade, who missed some time during the game after a hard foul from Dwight Howard which sent Wade into the locker room with a back injury.
Wade missed his first free throw, but knocked down the second, putting the game out of reach.
Heat fans have no reason to worry about Miami's defense seemingly falling apart at the end. This game had more to say about Orlando's resiliency and dangerous shooters than any flaw Miami might have on defense.
