Miami Heat: The Puerile Nature Of LeBron Bosh and Wade May Hurt Their Chances

Shehan JeyarajahJan 18, 2011

When the Big Three came together this offseason, it appeared that they would come and take championships for years to come. Ever since then, it seems that the perception of the team has gotten worse and worse.

They still have perhaps the top players at each of the big three's positions in the league, but their championship mentality has really come into question. Teams with the best players don't always win the title.

DWYANE WADE

At a charity event held by Alonzo Mourning, Dwyane Wade said, "There's going to be times when we might lose one, two games in a row, maybe two games, three games in a row, you never know. It's going to seem like the world is crashed down. You all are going to make it seem like the World Trade has just went down again. But it's not going to be nothing but a couple basketball games lost and we'll have to get back on track."

Wade was highly criticized for even comparing coverage of the Miami Heat to the September 11th attacks. I agree, it's inappropriate to try and compare coverage of your team losing a game to the worst terrorist attack in American history. Wade later apologized.

However Wade is not nearly as bad as the other two. He focuses on basketball instead of hype and his image. He works hard, perhaps even too hard at times. He does what it takes to win games. Perhaps this is the reason he is the only one of the big three with a championship ring.

CHRIS BOSH

In a game against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, Bosh was injured by Bulls' center Omer Asik diving for a loose ball and hitting Bosh's ankle. The play was clearly an attempt at the ball so no foul was called, but Bosh was limited and eventually left the game. Just a note, he is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game versus Atlanta.

After the game, Bosh had this to say: "C'mon, that is how guys get hurt, that is how serious injuries happen. You've got to watch people's legs. I know guys want to hustle and everything but we all want to play and provide for our families and have a job. If it is by somebody's leg, don't dive for the ball, it's too close."

This is what's wrong with the NBA. Players feel that they are entitled and that they can only care about themselves and their personal health and safety. Omer Asik thus far is trying to make a career off of just wanting the ball more than anyone else.

However I guess Chris Bosh has decided to turn Sprewell on us and wants to provide for his family. His mind seems to forget so quickly that his six years hundred twenty plus million contract is guaranteed but his abilities seem to have largely been left in Toronto.

Speaking about the offseason, Bosh said, "If you think about how many times somebody asks you, 'How are you,' that's how many times I was asked, 'Where you going? So it's like, well, in my case, I'm going to have fun with it. I'm going to play with people's emotions. I'm going to be high and low.I wouldn't call it a game because it's serious, but, I mean, it's entertainment at the end of the day. It's the truth. We're entertaining and everything but at the same time I'm just getting my feelings out there. It's entertaining to see people react to your real emotions because if it wasn't fun I wouldn't do it."

I don't know how you could possibly explain that. People are trying to invest millions of dollars in you to play a game. You are obviously going to be asked about what your decision will be. In the end, just playing mind games with people is a messed up thing to do.

If you want to be payed millions of dollars to play a game, perhaps you should learn some respect and professionalism.

LEBRON JAMES

After the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Lakers and only scored 57 points, LeBron said on Twitter, "Crazy. Karma is a b****. Gets you every time. Its not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!"

However after the game LeBron said that the tweet was not meant for Cleveland and that he was just repeating what someone had told him. However apparently he was right because after the tweet the Heat are 0-3 and LeBron sprained his ankle. The only reconciliation is that he knew what karma was.

LeBron said early in the season when asked about contraction, "Just imagine if you could take Kevin Love off Minnesota and add him to another team. Or, looking at some of the teams that aren't that great, you take Brook Lopez or you take Devin Harris off these teams that aren't that good right now and add them to a team that could be really good. Not saying let's take New Jersey, let's take Minnesota out of the league. But hey, you guys are not stupid. I'm not stupid. I know it would be great for the league."

Unfortunately LeBron, you have made it too easy for us journalists. Yes, you are stupid. The NBA Players Association, an entity in which LeBron remains a part of, is entering hard negotiations for the new Collective Bargaining Agreement with the owners. They are trying to work for you as well as all your compatriots. However by claiming that you could just get rid of two teams, you are throwing up to thirty jobs under the bus.

There are many borderline NBA players in the NBA, of which LeBron is not one. However most people had to work their way up through college and the D-League and had to scrounge for everything they had.

But LeBron was held on a pedestal ever since high school by not only his friends but the national media too. He doesn't know what it's like to have to work for a coach or to have to play with a team. He's used to just being the center of attention.

Of course he later came out and said that he didn't know what contraction is so maybe his blow off high school education just failed him.

CONCLUSION

The amount of stupidity on this team is mind blowing. There are players trying to work for jobs and these three are just throwing people under the bus. If the Heat ever want to win a title without killing the NBA, LeBron and Bosh especially need to grow up.
