NBA Rumors: Carmelo Anthony To New Jersey Nets, Camby to Knicks, Other Trades
NBA rumors are heating up lately, especially regarding Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony potentially coming to the New Jersey Nets or New York Knicks via trade.
But guys like Philadelphia 76ers guard/forward Andre Igoudala also may be moved, and a whole lot of others.
Here are the latest NBA trade rumors, from Carmelo Anthony to Nicolas Batum, and a whole lot of players in between.
Carmelo Anthony to the Nets
1 of 10
The Nets are still considered the front-runners to land Melo.
But they are reportedly losing patience.
If something doesn't happen soon, the Nets might miss their chance, and a team like the Knicks, who will offer less, might win out.
Andre Miller to the Nets
2 of 10
Carmelo Anthony apparently would rather go to the Knicks than Nets, and that's no surprise given the teams' differing spots in the standings.
But the Nets are working hard to entice Carmelo to come to Newark, and are reportedly trying to acquire Andre Miller to come play alongside Melo, again.
This a smart move by the Nets.
Marcus Camby to the Knicks
3 of 10
The Knicks are looking for three things in the trade market:
1. A defensive-minded center
2. A backup point guard
3. Carmelo Anthony
Camby is a perfect fit for No. 1, and he reportedly is willing to go to the Knicks, but not a rebuilding team. If New York can get Camby, that would lift their defense tremendously.
Stephen Jackson to the Bulls
4 of 10
It's no secret that the Bulls are looking for a shooting guard, and Stephen Jackson's name has been mentioned.
But he's signed for another season at $19.2 million, and I can't see the Bulls taking on that type of contract.
I don't buy this rumor.
Sebastian Telfair to the Knicks
5 of 10
The Knicks likely won't be able to land someone great as a backup point guard, but Telfair would be a decent addition.
He's nothing special, but shouldn't cost too much and could be effective in Mike D'Antoni's offense. It would be a smart, low-risk, medium-reward type of move.
Anderson Varejao to the Knicks
6 of 10
Like I said, the Knicks need some defensive help at center.
Varejao would be a perfect fit, and as long as the Knicks are willing to give up some talent/draft picks, they should be able to land him.
O.J. Mayo to the Bulls
7 of 10
Mayo is another guy who's been mentioned as a possible trade target for Chicago.
But while he's fallen out of favor in Memphis, he's a talented player who will command a decent package in return. And since the Bulls aren't giving up Joakim Noah or any of their young talent, they can't expect to land Mayo.
This isn't happening, either.
Anthony Parker to the Bulls
8 of 10
Here's one that finally makes sense.
Parker is a valuable shooting guard with a nice outside stroke, but he's useless as an aging veteran for the rebuilding Cavs.
It's a perfect fit for Chicago.
He's not a Korver-caliber shooter, but he can play solid defense and would be an upgrade over Keith Bogans on the offensive end.
Yao to the Kings
9 of 10
Yao Ming has a $17.7 million expiring contract. Reportedly, the Rockets offered Ming's contract to the Kings for Samuel Dalembert and DeMarcus Cousins.
But apparently the Kings aren't interested in giving up Cousins, and the trade fizzled out.
Look for the Rockets to move Yao, but not to Sacramento.
Nicolas Batum to the Timberwolves
10 of 10
The Timberwolves reportedly think Batum would be a perfect fit into Kurt Rambis's triangle offense, and would love to acquire him.
Portland has shown no intentions of moving him and the T-Wolves aren't confident, but they do have some nice young pieces that could potentially land them Batum.
But I wouldn't count on it, especially since Minnesota likely won't part ways with Kevin Love or Michael Beasley. Then again, if they put Ricky Rubio on the market, who knows?
