Chris Bosh: Is He Miami Heat's Guy You Want With the Ball in the Final Seconds?
When the Miami Heat brought back Dwyane Wade and then signed LeBron James, one question was more popular than the rest.
Who do you want with the ball in the final seconds of a close game?
Until the Heat's game with the Wizards, that scenario really hadn't come up. It was Dwyane Wade who made two shots from the free throw line to give the Heat their final points.
However, it was the player that got them there that was impressive. He attempted two key three-pointers in the final minute.
LeBron James? Dwyane Wade? James Jones?
Try Chris Bosh, and that's not a typo.
He drained his first three-pointer to get the Heat back into the game. On the second one, he wisely drew a foul and made two out of his three free throws.
Wade and James have both said in interviews that Bosh is the best shooter of the three, and he showed why against the Wizards.
Despite being only a 30 percent three-point shooter, Bosh was confident in both occasions with the ball in his hands.
And most importantly, he came through.
While I doubt the Heat will consistently rely on Bosh in these situations, it gives the opposing team someone else to worry about in the waning minutes.
Prior to his clutch shooting, many teams probably wouldn't have thought twice about leaving Bosh unguarded at the top of the key.
His showing against the Wizards changed all of that.
Oh, and it stopped all that ridiculous, "Was Bosh necessary?" talk.
Of course Bosh was necessary for this team to be good. Of the Big Three, he has the highest shooting percentage, making over half of his shots.
Bosh is one of the best power forwards in the league, and he is finally figuring out his role with the Heat.
Him playing well is key to this team being dominant.
