Patriots Will Stun Steelers: 10 Bold Predictions For Week 10 In the NFL

James BrownNov 11, 2010

Week 10 in the NFL looks to be one of the toughest slates to call of the season.

Last week my picks nearly finished dead even as I ended the week at 6-6-1. As it stands on the season my record sits at 61-65-2.

Let's see if we can get back above .500 this week.

Here are picks for every game in the NFL for week 10 against the spread.

Week 10 NFL Odds:
Falcons -1 (-110) /Ravens +1 (-110)
Total: 44 points : Over (-110), Under (-110)

The Atlanta Falcons host the Baltimore Ravens and the latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Falcons listed as 1 point favorites.

The Falcons are a great home team and Matt Ryan has solidified himself as a leader and accurate passer who thrives in the dome.

Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis has already complained about playing on Thursdays for obvious reasons, and the Ravens are tired and beat up at the moment.

The Ravens do not respond well after a blowout and the Falcons are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games as a home favorite.

This won’t be a blowout, but a low scoring affair.

The Falcons win by six and play surprisingly well on defense.

The tough luck Buffalo Bills play host to the Detroit Lions this week and latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Bills listed as three point favorites.

The Lions are having some injury problems. In their last game against the Jets they lost starting quarterback Matthew Stafford and their kicker John Hanson.

The Bills have yet to get a win on the season but it’s not for a lack of trying. They've played well against every team but just come up short time and time again. That changes this weekend.

The Bills get the first win of the season and cover the small number against Detroit.

The drama filled Minnesota Vikings travel to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears. The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Vikings listed as one point favorites.

The Vikings and Brett Favre looked like they were back on track after a come from behind win over the Arizona Cardinals, but the there's still a lot of tension between the players and head coach Brad Childress.

What's more, the Vikings struggle in the Windy City and are 1-6 ATS in their last seven trips to Chicago.

The Bears are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games as an underdog of 0.5-3.0 and 3-1-1 ATS against a team with a losing record. The Bears need to win this game to keep pace with the Packers and are dangerous divisional home underdogs.

The Browns pulled off the biggest upset of Week Nine by defeating the New England Patriots behind the power running of the Peyton Hillis.

In beating the Patriots, the Browns did the Jets a favor, but now the Jets have to make sure they don't return it. The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Jets listed as three point favorites.

The Browns are good and they are for real. Colt McCoy looks great as a rookie quarterback and the defense plays smart football. They have now beaten the Saints and the Patriots and there is no reason to think they can’t keep it close against the Jets.

The Browns are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 against the AFC and 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a home underdog. The Browns are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall and keep winning for Browns backers.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may not be the best team in the NFC, but they are a contender that could make the playoffs. This week they host a team that is anything but a contender. The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Bucs listed as 6.5 point favorites.

The Bucs were one yard away from beating the Falcons on the road but came up short late in the game while attempting to pick up a first down. Now they return home to take it out on the lifeless Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers are a franchise suffering from tough times. The latest bad news was that quarterback Matt Moore is lost for the season. Rookie Jimmy Clausen will get the start for this game against the Bucs.

With all of that being said, the Panthers could win this game outright. The Panthers still play hard for every down of the game and the Bucs could look right past this game. If the Bucs think this will be an easy win, they are sadly mistaken.

The Panthers are 13-6 ATS in their last 19 meetings, 8-3 ATS against a team with a winning record, and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games following a double-digit loss at home. The Bucs are 3-14 ATS in their last 17 home games and if they are not careful they will lose this game.

The game last week against the Chargers was the perfect example of why the Texans will have trouble winning every week. The defense is in shambles and one of the worst in the NFL. If they want to beat Jacksonville this week, they need to play better.

The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Jags listed as 1.5 point favorites.

The Jaguars have been an up and down team all season. They appear to be a playoff contender with the quality wins, but look disgraceful in blowout losses. The key will be trying to figure out what Jacksonville team shows up this week.

The Texans defense struggles but Jacksonville won't take advantage of the weak secondary. Jacksonville will try to run the ball on the ground and the Texans will play tough on the run and score on offense.

The Texans are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 meetings and the underdog is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 meetings. The Jags are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games following a win, 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a bye week, and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games as a favorite.

Texans beat the Jags through the air in another high scoring affair.

The Colts will try to recover from a loss to the Eagles last week as they host the Cincinnati Bengals.

The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Colts listed as seven point favorites.

In last Sunday's loss to Philadelphia, the Colts were without 11 front-line players, including six opening-day starters. While Manning is the best quarterback in the business, this is a tough obstacle even for him.

The Bengals have been one of the most disappointing teams all year and after losing on Monday night their post-season hopes are all but gone. The Bengals are great on paper but never seem to get the job done.

The Bengals are 1-5 ATS in their last six meetings and enter this game on a short week to prepare. The Colts are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games as a home favorite of 3.5-10.0 and are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 against the AFC.

The Colts get the job done and cover the number, even with a significant amount of injuries.

This game is surrounded by storylines as the Titans will have Randy Moss in uniform for the first time and the Dolphins will get a new starting quarterback.

The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Titans listed as two point favorites.

The Dolphins announced this week that Chad Henne will be benched and veteran quarterback Chad Pennington will get his first start since an injury sidelined him in 2009.

The Titans have much bigger news as embattled and often disgruntled wide receiver Randy Moss joins the team.

The quarterback change is good for the Dolphins. They get an experienced veteran that can lead the team and more importantly, not make mistakes. The Dolphins are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a loss against the spread.

The Titans are 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a road favorite and will need time to adjust to life with Randy Moss.

After a tough loss last week in overtime, the Chiefs look to get back on track this Sunday against Denver.

The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Chiefs listed as one point favorites.

The Chiefs will have their hands full playing the Broncos off of a bye week.

The Chiefs are 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite and 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite of 0.5-3.0.

The Broncos are 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a bye week and will be ready to take on the Chiefs. The defense for the Broncos has had problems but can stop the run at home. The Broncos are the play as home divisional dogs.

What a week for the Dallas Cowboys. They were blown out on national television, they lost their head coach and they have to face a division rival playing its best football of the year.

The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Giants as 14 point favorites.

For the New York Giants things cannot be better. They seem to be clicking on all cylinders and just stomped the Seattle Seahawks on the road.

Changing head coaches can be good for a football team, but not in this case. The Cowboys appointed Jason Garrett as the head coach and the defense has been questioning his play calling all year.

The Giants are 22-9 ATS in their last 31 games following a win and the Cowboys are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog.

I am tempted to take the point but the Cowboys are done playing football this year.

The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Cardinals listed as three point favorites.

Okay, maybe I'm missing something but Arizona is not good and just because they are at home I am not sure that it warrants making them a favorite in this game. However, when you investigate just how bad the Seahawks are on the road the answer becomes pretty clear.

The Seahawks were dismantled at home against the Giants while the Cardinals lost in an overtime thriller to Minnesota.

Although the Cardinals lost the game, they should be encouraged by the way they played on the field.

The Cardinals are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games as a favorite of 0.5-3.0. Meanwhile the Seahawks are 17-35-1 ATS in their last 53 road games and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games as an underdog.

The Cardinals get in the win column as small home favorites and cover the number against Seattle.

The 49ers return to the states after winning overseas and hope that success goes Trans-Atlantic as they prepare to host the St. Louis Rams.

The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the 49ers listed as six point favorites.

The 49ers got a bolt of energy when Troy Smith started at quarterback and he will start again this week in a big divisional game.

The Rams have been surprising and currently lead the pathetic NFC West with a record of 4-4, but have failed to prove they can win on the road.

This game will be an absolute blowout and the Niners will stomp on the Rams. The Rams are young and still don’t know how to win on the road and the 49ers are off a bye and motivated by the change at quarterback.

The 49ers are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 home games and the Rams are 8-22 ATS in their last 30 against the NFC West. 49ers win by double digits in this game.

Possibly the best game of the week will happen on Sunday Night Football when the Pittsburgh Steelers play host to the New England Patriots.

The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Steelers listed as 4.5 point favorites.

The Patriots were exposed and embarrassed by the Cleveland Browns last week. Tom Brady was erratic and the Pats defense was beaten on nearly every play.

The Steelers survived against the Bengals, but lost offensive lineman Max Starks for the season.

However, the Patriots had their share of injuries as well, losing kicker, Stephen Gostkowski for the season.

This game is a battle between two of the best teams in the league. In a game like this, I will side with the points.

The Patriots are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game and they may not win, but they will keep it close.

The Eagles look to continue their winning ways and get revenge when they travel to Washington for a Monday night game.

The latest NFL sports betting odds as posted by Bet Revolution has the Eagles as three point favorites.

The Eagles are off a huge win over the Colts and things are coming together for a team that had a quarterback controversy for most of the year. Now all the quarterback issues seem to be in Washington.

Donovan McNabb and head coach Mike Shanahan have gone toe-to-toe ever since McNabb was benched in the loss to the Lions. Now he will get his chance to prove he can still play and beat his former team.

The Underdog is 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight meetings and this game could propel the Skins closer to first place in the NFC East. The Redskins are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog.

The Eagles are 2-5 ATS in their last seven against the NFC and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall.

McNabb has always played great after a benching and he will respond by sweeping his former team at home on a Monday night.
