Fantasy Football Week 7: Sleepers and Must-Adds Off the Waiver Wire

Frank FittipaldiOct 22, 2010

Chris Ivory, New Orleans Saints

With Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush injured, running back Chris Ivory has stepped into the starting role and performed at a high level.

Ivory carried the ball 15 times for 158 yards, an impressive 10-plus yards per carry. Although Ivory did not find the end zone, fantasy owners were happy if they in fact had him in the lineup. If you did not get your hands on Ivory already, be sure to do so this week as he and the Saints take on the Browns.

Mike Williams, Seattle Seahawks

Former USC start Mike Williams had his best day as a pro this past Sunday. Williams caught 10 balls for 123 yards. Coach Pete Carrol's faith in Williams may actually work out. If Sunday's performance is any indication of what Williams can and will do, than snag the 6'5'' receiver off the waiver wire.

The Seahawks are at home against the Cardinals in Week 7.

Patrick Crayton, San Diego Chargers

With starters Malcom Floyd and Legedu Naanee injured, wide receiver Patrick Crayton has no choice but to fill in and step up. There is a good chance Crayton will start this Sunday, and with the way Philip Rivers is playing, No. 12 can have a big day. Crayton had a big game at St. Louis in Week 6 with six receptions for 117 yards.

Pick up Crayton as the Chargers take on the struggling Patriots' defense in Week 7.

Jason Avant, Philadelphia Eagles

Wide receiver Jason Avant will step into the starting role in Week 7 with DeSean Jackson injured. Jackson suffered a concussion due to a big hit from Falcons' corner Dunta Robinson. Avant had five catches for 62 yards in Week 6 and should get more targets with Jackson out of action.

Avant has a tough test in Week 7 against Tennessee, but he is worth giving a look.

Benjamin Watson, Cleveland Browns

Browns' rookie quarterback Colt McCoy started his first game in Week 6, and his favorite target was tight end Benjamin Watson. Watson caught six passes for 88 yards and a touchdown, his best performance of the season. The Browns play the Saints in Week 7, who have not given up a touchdown to an opposing tight end in three weeks.

Watson should still put up solid numbers in Week 7, add him if you have not already.
