NLCS 2010: San Francisco's Game 6 Is a Must-Win, Game 7 Could Be Doomsday!
Ok, so the Giants didn't win Game 5, it's not all that surprising. Disappointing, yes. But it's not the end of the world. If you were to have said the Giants would win two out of three at home 90% of us would have said "I'll take it!"
The key is for Jonathan Sanchez and the Giants to get Game 6, therefore avoiding the nerve-wracking possibility of Game 7. The San Francisco Giants have been in this position before, back in the 2002 World Series.
With a lead in Game 6 of the 2002 World Series, and having a 5-0 lead in the seventh inning, the Giants all but started the party of being World Champs. Not too much later, the lead was gone, so was the game; and Game 7 was looming like a bad dream.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Philadelphia got some breaks in Game 5. Aubrey Huff booted a groundball that gave the Phils extra bases and extra outs to score runs- and they capitalized. This was preceded by a blown call by the home plate umpire on Roy Halladay's bunt that should have been ruled a foul ball.
Nevertheless, the Giants still had chances but could not push across more than two runs. At the plate- Huff struggled, Posey struggled, Uribe struggled; and one bad inning cost the Giants the game.
Roy Oswalt showed much determination and guts pitching in Game 4. Here's hoping he used some of his power and pitches in that game, because if he pitched as he did in Game 2 it could be a very long night in the City of Brotherly Love (as long as you're not a Giants player of fan).
Game 6 needs to unfold as the following in order for the Giants to get momentum back in their corner:
1. Score at least one run in the first inning.
2. Keep Werth in the ballpark.
3. Hope Jonathan Sanchez has a good breaking ball that night.
4. Add on runs to keep the mouths of Philly fans shut!
While getting to a Game 7 would not necessarily mean all is lost; it sure would be a touch mountain to climb with a tough lefty in Cole Hamels and rocking Citizens Bank BallPark making things difficult.
If I could draw up Game 6 as I wanted to, including deciding which Giants players did well; here's my wish list- Aubrey Huff gets redemption by hitting a homerun to right field; a moon shot. Juan Uribe taking one of his massive swings and launching it dead center for a two-run shot.
Then just for good measure, Posey knocks in a run, Burrel goes yard to deep left, and Torres knocks in the final two runs for a 7-2 finish.
The Giants need a laugher. The Giants fans need a laugher. Enough of the one or two run games, here's hoping the Giants unleash their bats Saturday night in Philadelphia so they can send those obnoxious fans home hoping for an Eagles win on Sunday to make them feel better.
The Giants play on, and hopefully for just one more game. While Game 7's are the envy of all sporting events, this is one time we don't want to be a part of the hype.
Go Giants!
