Jerome Harrison Traded to the Philadelphia Eagles: Fastest Offense in The NFL?
Wednesday, the Cleveland Browns traded running back Jerome Harrison to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for running back Mike Bell.
Jerome Harrison is just another explosive playmaker on an already lighting fast Eagles offense.
With the addition of Harrison, do the Eagles now have the fastest offense in the league? That is, of course, if they didn't have the fastest offense already.
Here are the 40 times for the Eagles key offensive players:
Can any team match them?
Michael Vick: 4.36
1 of 6
Michael Vick is the fastest player to ever play at the quarterback position.
At a rookie mini-camp prior to the 2001 NFL Draft, he reportedly ran a 4.36.
That time is faster than most receivers can run.
This number can't be verified, but supposedly Vick has been clocked running a 4.25.
DeSean Jackson: 4.31
2 of 6
DeSean Jackson is arguably the fastest receiver in the league, but the scary thing is, he may be quicker.
The most explosive wide out in the league can turn a routine quick slant into a touchdown in the blink of an eye.
He is truly one of those special talents where every time he touches the ball, he has a chance to take it to the house.
Rumors of a 4.2 forty time have floated around his name.
Jeremy Maclin: 4.34
3 of 6
Jeremy Maclin was the consensus number two receiver in the 2009 draft behind Michael Crabtree, but thanks to the Oakland Raiders, Maclin fell all the way to 19th overall and the Eagles traded up to get him.
Talk about a tandem.
Maclin ran a 4.45 officially at the combine, and that was after he fell and hyper extended his knee during route running drills.
He ran an unofficial 4.34 at the combine before the knee injury.
LeSean McCoy: 4.5
4 of 6
A 4.5 forty time isn't on the same level as the previous three players, but it is still fast for a running back.
Not only that, LeSean McCoy is much more of a shifty running back than a straight-line speed runner.
Of course, that time was run at his pro day. I watched McCoy play quite often at Pitt, and he looks faster in the pros than he did in college so he could even be faster now.
Jerome Harrison: 4.47
5 of 6
The Eagles' newest addition fits right in.
Jerome Harrison ran a 4.47 at the NFL combine.
A running back combination of McCoy-Harrison won't let a defense catch their breath.
So Are They the Fastest?
6 of 6
Probably not.
They lose in a tight race with the Oakland Raiders.
Now, pretty much the every Raider at running back, receiver, corner, and safety was drafted on 40 times alone so losing to the NFL's track team is nothing to be ashamed of.
Darrius Heyward-Bey over Michael Crabtree; enough said....
The Eagles skill players blow them away in talent either way.
