Washington Redskins Release Devin Thomas, Another Waste From Team's 2008 Draft
The Washington Redskins have released wide receiver Devin Thomas, the team announced Saturday.
Last week, numerous rumors began to pop up and word on the street was that Thomas was on his way out. After seeing just one offensive snap through four weeks, many believed that it was only a matter of time before Thomas was released in order to make space for a new player.
Thomas’ release goes on to solidify the awfulness that is the 2008 Draft class. Orchestrated by the despicable Vinny Cerrato, the Washington Redskins have barely anything to show for their 10 picks from just two years ago. Take a look…

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Devin Thomas – Round 2 (No. 34 overall) : Released
Fred Davis – Round 2 – (No. 48 overall) : Talented, pass-catching tight end, still with team.
Malcolm Kelly – Round 2 – (No. 51 overall) : Always hurt, currently on IR.
Chad Rinehart – Round 3 – (No. 96 overall) : Released
Justin Tryon – Round 4 – (No. 124 overall) : Traded for undisclosed draft pick
Durant Brooks – Round 6 – (No. 168 overall) : Released
Kareem Moore – Round 6 – (No. 180 overall) : Recently returned from injury, decent safety.
Colt Brennan – Round 6 – (No. 186 overall) : Released
Rob Jackson – Round 7 – (No. 242 overall) : Released
Chris Horton – Round 7 – (No. 249 overall) : Still with team, average at very best.
So we shouldn’t be all that surprised with Thomas’ dismissal. The Redskins immediately filled the roster spot with undrafted free agent running back Keiland Williams – who made great strides during the preseason.
The Redskins appear to be taking-on the rest of the season with a relatively no-name receiving corps that includes, Santana Moss, Joey Galloway, Anthony Armstrong, Roydell Williams, and Brandon Banks.
Throughout the season, Mike Shanahan was asked why Devin Thomas hadn’t yet seen the field. Shanahan always responded with, “…he has to outplay the guys ahead of him.”
DT apparently never did that, nor was he ever going to.
