Help Wanted: Five NFL Trades That Need To Happen
Now through week four of the NFL season we are starting to see which teams will be contenders and which teams will have to wait for next year. But what about the teams stuck in the middle? That team with the great weapons on offense, but lack that one player on defense. The teams that are just one piece away from being a contender. There are many low level teams that have players on their rosters that could benefit these teams on the edge. Here are the teams I believe need these trades the most, and who they could go after.
Colts Need To See How Much Is Haynesworth
1 of 5
The Colts are the defending AFC champs winning 14 games last year and coasted to the Super Bowl, so why on this list? The 2010 Colts are not coasting as much as they are just treading water, Indy is last, yes you heard me right, last in the AFC south. I don't know the last time you could say that, but the Colts are struggling to keep up with their own division, losing to the Jags, and Texans making them 0-2 in the division.
The main problem has been, you guessed it, the defense. Wow! what a shocker, the Colts D has footprints all over their jerseys from being ran on. Indy's defense has allowed 149 rushing yards a game this season(29th in NFL), also a whopping 5.0 yards a carry(30th in NFL). With maybe the best quarterback in the game in Peyton Manning playing out of his mind this year throwing for 1,365 yards, 11 TDs, and just one interception, Manning is not(and never) the problem for the Colts.
So why not pick up a pro bowl DT that will eat up space, stop the run, and rush the passer? Albert Haynesworth is ripe for the picking, and the Colts should go get their baskets.
The asking price for Haynesworth is probably a second and third round pick and maybe a player, draft picks being something the Colts can spare seeing as they already have most of their team in tact. Haynesworth should be willing to play in a cover 2 system, and should be thrilled to play along side players like Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis, who demand double teams themselves.
With such a strong vocal leader like Peyton Manning to keep Haynesworth in check, this move seems like a match made in heaven.
Lynch To Pack
2 of 5
The Green Bay Packers are a good football team, but with the injury to starting running back Ryan Grant the Packers have be come a one dimensional team. Their not looking for a long term answer, but rather someone to fill the void for the rest of this season.
Who better than Marshawn Lynch, a guy who is looking to get playing time and get on a winning team, and a hard runner. Lynch and Buffalo have had a serious falling out as shown by the drafting of C.J. Spiller. Lynch is not the player he was two years ago, but still shows flashes and can help in the passing game.
Lynch won't be to expensive seeing as the Bills do have Spiller, and Green Bay will need a running game if they want to live up to their Super Bowl aspirations. Even when Grant comes back next year why not keep Lynch for his last years and have a one two punch, taking some of the work load off Ryan Grant possibly keeping him healthier.
This move would delight quarterback Aaron Rodgers, giving him a new weapon on an already loaded offense, and making their team that much better. Lynch should take his 4.4 yards a carry to Green Bay and he will be sure to make plenty Lambo-Leaps.
Room in Tennessee For Two Vince's

Though he has not seen a snap this season, Vincent Jackson still remains the best option for a team in need of a wide receiver. Jackson a back to back 1,000 yard receiver is said to not be on the move, but it only makes sense to trade him. Jackson wants the big bucks, and the Chargers don't seem like the team to shell out the dough.
The Tennessee Titans would not mind paying the star wide out his cash. The team has show they will pay their top players, as they offered Albert Haynesworth a ton of money to stay and gave RB Chris Johnson a raise(with more to come) this off season. Jackson would be a much needed addition to a pretty lackluster receiving core in Tennessee.
This move would give quarterback Vince Young a main target to throw to in key situations, which would also take away the dependency of Johnson having huge games week after week(which is hard to do). The move will cost Tennessee their first round pick or second and third, but what else would them use it on? Receiver is their biggest need, and I don't see a Calvin Johnson or Larry Fitzgerald is this years draft, so they should get Jackson before the deadline.
Vikings To Plunder Smith
4 of 5
Not many teams started off as poorly as the Minnesota Vikings, limping out the gate at 1-2 and struggling to score points. The Vikings need to inject skill into a woeful receiving core, with only 27 receptions by receivers this season the Vikings need help.
The Carolina Panthers have had rumblings of trading pro bowl WR Steve Smith, who seems frustrated with the rebuilding processes my bringing in rookie Jimmy Clausen. The Vikings could be Smith's best chance at winning a Super Bowl for a long time. We've seen how good the Vikings can be and with the return of Sidney Rice the Vikings could have a deadly duo if Smith is acquired putting the team right back in Super Bowl contention.
Carolina will surely ask for a lot in return for Smith, and the Vikings should be willing to pay. This is the last chance for the Vikings with Bret Favre at quarterback, and they should do what they can to give him the best weapons available. This will be a make or break year for the Vikings and they need to make it count.
Kolb Will Spread His Wings As a Cardinal
5 of 5
The Arizona Cardinals are not that bad of a football team, they just have major problems at quarterback. They tried to put a band-aid on it by getting Derek Anderson, but it just got wet and fell off. Now the Cardinals need to get a quarterback, and paying a quarterback tons of cash to see if he pans out is a big risk so a quick fix would help.
Kevin Kolb has seen his stock go from buy to sell and from sell to buy, but the young QB has been nothing but professional through it all. He had two great games last season throwing for 300 yards in both of his starts, but this season has gotten off to a slow start. He has been injured and taken out of the starting line up for a rejuvenated Michael Vick, who has shown to be back to his pro bowl self which spells bad news for Kolb.
The Cardinals may want to draft a QB this year, but the option of Kolb seems like a good fit. Vick has taken over that team in Philly and the Cardinals need something to keep fans who have come to like to see their team win, happy, and a new young talented QB would be a nice gift. Though Kolb will have a high price tag the Cardinals have picks and a void at QB.
