NFL Week 4 Picks: Will Donovan McNabb Win In His Return To Philadelphia Eagles?
Here are my NFL Week 4 Picks for all 16 games.
You'll see some interesting selections, including my thoughts on whether the Washington Redskins can win in Donovan McNabb's first battle against his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Moreover, will the Pittsburgh Steelers continue their undefeated streak against the Baltimore Ravens? And, will the San Francisco 49ers find their first win against the Atlanta Falcons?
Find out my predictions on that, and much more.
Last Week: 8-8
Cumulative Season Record: 24-24
New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills
1 of 14
Winner: New York Jets
The Buffalo Bills may have played a competitive match against the New England Patriots last week, but I don't think anybody can consider them as serious competition.
The Mark Sanchez-led New York Jets look very strong, and should win this game with ease.
This game will be broadcast on CBS at 1:00 P.M. EDT.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
2 of 14
Winner: Cincinnati Bengals
This game may not have as big of a margin as many expect it to have.
Despite starting 0-3, the Cleveland Browns have been close in all of their contests this season.
With the pressure on, I'm sure that they won't let the Bengals breeze through this one.
Still, considering how strong the Bengals defense has played, they should still win it.
This game will be broadcast on CBS at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers
3 of 14
Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
Heading into 2010, I had the Baltimore Ravens winning this game. So, it's amazing how a short change of events can quickly divert one's perception.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are playing like the best team in football, and there's no reason to believe they won't continue to do so.
This game will be broadcast on CBS at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Denver Broncos @ Tennessee Titans
4 of 14
Winner: Tennessee Titans
Based on how the Titans have been playing lately, it appears as if last year was a fluke and that this team is ready to once again be a playoff contender in the AFC.
Chris Johnson and a stout defense lead this team, and should help them claim the win over a weak Broncos team.
This game will be broadcast on CBS at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers
5 of 14
Winner: Green Bay Packers
The Detroit Lions are the 30th worst defense in terms of total yards allowed.
The good news?
Their league-worst rush defense probably won't be too exposed by a Packers team that is without their lead back and only managed to rush for 63 yards against the Bears.
The bad news?
Their 26th-ranked pass defense will probably be diced into shreds by Aaron Rodgers & Co.
This game will be broadcast on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
San Francisco 49ers @ Atlanta Falcons
6 of 14
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
The San Francisco 49ers have looked absolutely abysmal this season, and while I do expect them to turn things around, it won't happen against the Falcons.
The Falcons have just knocked off the defending champs, and are looking like one of the league's premier teams.
This game will be broadcast on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints
7 of 14
Winner: New Orleans Saints
After being beaten by the Falcons in an overtime thriller last week, I'm certain that the Saints will seek revenge and there's no way they lose to the Panthers at home.
The Saints employ a very aggressive style of defense and it could overwhelm Jimmy Clausen beyond measure.
At the same time, though, it'll be interesting to see how the third-worst rush defense handles the Panthers' 'Smash and Dash' duo.
This game will be broadcast on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams
8 of 14
Winner: Seattle Seahawks
This is honestly one of the toughest games to predict, because both are coming off rather impressive victories.
However, the key advantage I believe the Seahawks have is that their sixth-best rush defense should contain Steven Jackson (considering he plays) and thus put too much pressure on Sam Bradford.
This game will be broadcast on FOX at 1:00 P.M. EDT
Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars
9 of 14
Winner: Indianapolis Colts
This is truly a no-brainer as Peyton Manning, should destroy the Jaguars' 29th ranked pass defense all day long.
The only thing that might be able to save them from utter embarrassment is a jaw-dropping performance from Maurice Jones-Drew.
This game will be broadcast on CBS at 4:05 P.M. EDT
Houston Texans @ Oakland Raiders
10 of 14
Winner: Houston Texans
The Oakland Raiders have been competitive in their past two games, but the daunting task of stopping the Houston Texans may be too much to ask.
The debates as to who's the best receiver and cornerback are always heated issues, and this week will give us a much clearer picture as Nnamdi Asomugha will face off Andre Johnson.
Note that last week, he limited Larry Fitzgerald to only 2 receptions for 26 yards and a touchdown.
This game will be broadcast on FOX at 4:15 P.M. EDT
Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles
11 of 14
Winner: Philadelphia Eagles
In a 'surprising' trade (that I predicted), McNabb was sent to the Washington Redskins this past offseason, which made his return to Philadelphia one of the most anticipated games of the season.
Now that Michael Vick is in the mix, it makes it much more intriguing
The Eagles have looked solid over the past couple games, and I think they have the upper hand in this one.
This game will be broadcast on FOX at 4:15 P.M. EDT
Arizona Cardinals @ San Diego Chargers
12 of 14
Winner: San Diego Chargers
This is a game between arguably the weakest defending division winners, and neither have met expectations this season.
However, the Chargers have proved to be statistically the more superior team. In fact, they boast the top-ranked offense and fourth-best defense in the league yet only have a single win to show for it.
I expect them to tack on another with a win here.
This game will be broadcast on FOX at 4:15 P.M. EDT
Chicago Bears @ New York Giants
13 of 14
Winner: Chicago Bears
So far, the Bears have been one of the surprise teams in the NFL and after a statement victory over the Green Bay Packers, it's fair to say that they are the real deal.
I don't think the Giants stand a chance.
This game will be broadcast on NBC at 8:20 P.M. EDT on Sunday Night Football
New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins
14 of 14
Winner: New England Patriots
To be honest, this game could go either way and I'm really hopping over each side of the fence on this one.
In the end, I believe that Bill Belichick & Co. will stand victorious in this heated division rivalry.
This game will be broadcast on ESPN at 8:30 P.M. EDT on Monday Night Football.
