10 Of WWE's Most Severe Problems and 10 Possible Soloutions

The Jonathan CooneyySep 30, 2010

WWE and TNA are not in the best current state but I do not believe there is a recovery for TNA that is why I have decided to write about WWE and their problems.

I know for facts that several people reading this know where i'm coming from but those who do not I will give an example.

One major TNA problem is EV 2.0 and the fact that in 2010 I have to watch a main event with Sabu in a ladder match.

One WWE Problem would most definitely be their brutal Diva's division.

I know for fact that there is far more than 10 problems in the WWE but I am going to cover 10 that are to me the most urgent.

Not Pushing Younger Guys Properly

1 of 9

Kingston, Ryder, Swagger, Bourne, Tatsu, Kaval, Morrison and Punk are just some of the most misused young talents to ever feature on a WWE roster.

Kaval, Swagger, CM Punk and Morrison are all very capable to headline PPV's while Ryder, Bourne and Tatsu will if they're given the right push.

So far WWE have not screwed up other future greats like Kingston, Del Rio, Wade Barrett and Justin Gabriel.

The fact that Kane at the age of 43 is a World Chapion just reflects how little trust and believe WWE hold for the younger guys.

Im not bashing Kane in anyway just using the Big Red Machine as an example of WWE's ignarance.

WWE in all fairness are trying to push younger talent for example Orton aged 30 with another 10-12 years in him (depending on his surgecally repaired neck and shoulder) is a World Champion.

Ziggler aged 30 with another 15 years left in the tank is currently the companies Inercontenental Champ.

Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes both with good gimmick, decent mic skills and in-ring ability are currently the Tag Teams Champion both of Whom are aged 25 with around 20 years until they are like Kevin Nash.

Daniel Bryan, a personal favourite of mine and every other mature member of the WWE Universe with some sort of Brain is 29 and i'd say about 12 - 15 left for the American Dragon.

Despite them 5 being newly crowned Champions and some look set to have a lengthy reign they're are still a lot of talent in WWE that are very unknown due to WWE restricting them to house shows and Superstars.

Soloution

Well there is several ways to improve this situation and here are some:

  • Allow DiBiase to Defend the Million Dollar Championship as he would any other Championship. This would obviosly give him a push and have him beating older fan favourites like Khali and Goldust would allow him to gain even more heat which would alert the attention of Vince.
  • Santino Marrella is 30 years of age with no major injury problems in his past which means he could remain on the scene for a long time if WWE are not stupid they will transform him from a joke to a top dog. Vlad is strong and very agressive and I belive Santino also has strength to his advantage. Him and Vlad winning some serious matches could turn heads.
  • Every one would agree that whats holding Tatsu & Bourne back is their lack of matches on Monday Night RAW so why not give them some sort of alliance. ShowMiz was random and so was Hawkins and Archer so why not allow these two, to develope something.
  • Luke Gallows has recently began a face run and he lacks mic skills but I really do think he has a chance in the WWE due to his size and at the age of 26 oppurtunity is sure to arrive. I think allowing his feud to continue with Punk would be smart and WWE allowing Gallows to pin Punk would not be too bad an idea to be honest because lets just face it Punk is jobbing to Show for some unknown reason.

A Loss Of Several Main Players Recently

2 of 9

Batista and HBK are gone for sure and with Hardy and Y2J apparently leaving merchandise sales has got to be down and loss of money would obviously lead to more Wrestlers being made unemployed witch obviously makes this a problem.

Matt, Batista, HBK and Jericho brought brilliant matches, storylines and title reigns to the WWE.

Arrivals like Barrett, Sheamus, Daniels and Tyler Black are promising and exciting but will they be able to grab us like a Sweat Chin Music or beating HHH at your first WrestleMania to claim your first World Title.

Matt Hardy and Chris Jericho are not leaving for certain but with Matts weight and behaviour problems I doubt we will see him on the Blue Brand again.

Chris Jericho on the other hand looks set to go touring with his band Fozzy and with a match against Orton this week on RAW...

I think every one reading this can put 2 + 2 together.

WWE also have stars like Christian, Joey Mercury, Triple H, Ezekiel Jackson, Shad Gaspar, Joey Mercury, Skip Sheffield, Beth Pheonix and Rey Mysterio inactive due to injury or other.

Soloution

  • Give Jericho a kayfabe injury and leave it open for him to return.
  • I would love to see Batista and Michaels be treated fairly by WWE and giving permission to make Part-Time appearances kinda like Rics or Austins.

Not Revealing The General Manager Soon Enough

3 of 9

SummerSlam is one of WWE's 4 biggest Pay-Per-Views and at the event I was sure it was going to be revealed who was calling the shots but rather disappointingly we got nothing.

This weeks edition of RAW saw the return of the Cutting Edge Show that was another great oppurtunity to reveqal the indentity of the GM but yet again... Nothing!

This is a problem because people will begin to lose intrest in the whole angle if it aint revealed soon enough and this has been going on for around 2 months or so now.

Who could the GM be?

  • Shane Mc Mahon - I would not mind seeing "Shane - O - Mac back in the buissness. There is 20 years of history with Shane and WWE and considering his father owns the company I would not be shocked to see a return.
  • The Rock - Well we can dream can't we.
  • HBK - Hard to know but I can imagine HBK will retun in a couple of years time for a one off match or one last WrestleMania appearence instead of being a General Manager and a permenant feature of RAW weekly.
  • Mike Adamle - This prediction just hit me now but would he have formed Nexus as some sort of revenge plot?
  • Steve Austin - If he was involved with WWE again it would have been leaked to the internet by now without doubt.
  • Batista - He was angry that Cena was WWE's poster boy and not him and Nexus seems to be targetting Cena.
  • JBL - Nexus seem to be after power and if I recall wasn't JBL in love with two thing: Money and power!
  • Goldberg - Taking out Cena due to his popularity with the fans as revenge for how he was treated during his final WWE match vs Lesnar. Goldberg also has a heated past with Bret and the GM stated that he hated Bret.

Other Possibilities.

  • HHH
  • Vince Mc M
  • Abe Washington
  • Stephanie Mc Mahon
  • A possible partnership of power between Stephanie and Hunter.

Continuosly Breaking Traditions

4 of 9

There are very few traditions in WWE every one knows the ones that have been broken and lets have a look at them.

The Money In The Bank Ladder Match Always being First Match on A WM Card:

For 5 years now I used to wait for of the best interpromotional matches ever to come on.

When the idea was set I was not sure about it. But now, Looking back, I was a fool it has kickstarted career's like Edge, Miz and Swagger and gave back life to ones like RVD and Kane.

When I heard that they were building a PPV around this I was shocked of the Ignorance that exsists in WWE today!

One SmackDown vs RAW match a year at Survivour Series instead of a PPV built around it:

Vince McMahon was almost going to cancel the Survivor Series PPV and with that he was going to cancel all its history, The Montreal Screwjob and what not and replace it with Braging Rights.

Heel General Managers:

Teddy Long, Tiffany and Bret Hart have been all General Managers recently in WWE and they have all been Faces the days of Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff being General Manager and they days of them favouring their favourite heel athletes.

For example do you remember how Bischoff used to favour Triple H and all of Evoloution.

Heyman used to select Lesnar and Big Show.

Them days are well and truely gone but there is still some hope with all this anonnymous GM BS.

Soloution

  • Let the new GM be a heel. Triple H would be most suited to the position due to the fact that he is one of WWE's best heels.
  • Let the new GM favour Nexus, to help put him over with the crowd.
  • Get rid of the whole Money In The Bank PPV crap and let it go back to being exclusive to WrestleMania.
  • Having MITB at WrestleMania is a brilliant way to include mid-card stars in WWE's annual celebration and give them their "WrestleMania moment".
  • Keep Bragging Rights going, to make it like a new tradition and don't let it end up like Backlash or Juedgement Day.

John Cena Being Hated

5 of 9

When Bret, HBK and The Rock were dominating their respective brand, in their prime and making the company millions was one boo heard in the arena?

No, you would not because back in them days the creative built better wrestlers.

When WWE are creating a wrestlers who is ment to carry a whole company and be loved by fans of all ages instead of fans from 5-13

The Rock had comedy that was not cheesey and only funny to 5-13 it was hilarious and funny to all.

The secret to Brets success was so easy. His brilliant in-ring technical skills is what was loved by all ages 15 upwards and the fact that he was giving his famous sunglasses to kids 7-14 made him loved by the younger population of the WWE Universe.

Shawn Michaels was able to put on brilliant matches week in, week out and when ever he allied himself with HHH their combined comedy was so brilliant and loved that they led the company and played an important part in the Alliance.

Soloution

  • Give Cena what he needs to be a top wrestler. A good move-set and a finisher better than a body slam. I don't think that STFU is that bad but as for the AA... Oh Please.
  • Hart Foundation, Rock 'n' Sock connection and D-X, did you notice that all member have held a World Title. Would Cena being a part of a Stable help him get him more over with the crowd? (Aged 15+)
  • WWE need to stop letting him do things like lift 750 pounds and being the sole survivour in all sort of Tag matches.

Terrible Diva's Division

6 of 9

Melina, Beth Phoenix and Natalya are the only 3 diva's who can actully put on a decent match at the moment in WWE. Katie Lee Burchill and Mickie James also fitted in that catergorey but WWE stupidly released them.

Michelle Mc Cool, Maryse and Layla are brilliant heels but do they have the ability to put on matches like the other 5 girls I mentioned above?

Alicia Fox and Eve Torress have recently one their first titles in WWE and despite their beauty are they really good athletes and able to carry the whole Diva's division?

When the likes of Chyna, Lita, Molly Holly, Trish Stratus and Victoria were in WWE and putting on tremendous matches would his slide show exist at all now?

Soloution

  • Allow Natalya to beat McCool and prove that Michelle is not being favoured over other Diva's because of who she is currently married too.
  • Get rid of the Bella Twin's or have them feud or something because they are literally a joke who are there to make guest hosts look good.
  • Try and sign Awesome Kong and have in a storyline with Mark Henry haha maybe a kayfabe brother or something.

Spending Millions Of Dollars On a Crap Show With About A 1,000 Viewers

7 of 9

WWE can utilize this show brilliantly but for some unknown reason they continue to ruin it and my estimation is that soon, it will end up like ECW.

Here are some possible ways WWE can make the show hit:

Allow DiBiase To purchase the franchise!

Donald Trump (kayfabe) bought RAW last year and WWE are trying to convince their viewers that DiBiase has as much money Vince or Donald then wouldn't this be a brilliant way to show it?

When I heard about Ted retrieving his father gimmick I was excited but what has it brought to the table apart from wanting to buy some freaks eye then absoloutley nothing.

Give it a TV Championship

Isn't it exactly what this show needs?

Goldust, MVP, Chris Masters and Luke Gallows are all regular features on the Show so why not have one of them feature as a Champ.

It is not as if they have a lot else going for them in their respective career's.

WWE would not be copying TNA either because ECW and WCW both had TV Titles and WWE own them franchise's now.

Have Former WWE Stars do commentary

I know Superstars is recorded on Monday and Tuesday, when RAW and SmackDown are being recorded but if i'm not mistaking don't Finlay, Bret Hart, Arn Anderson and Jamie Noble work behind the scenes as producers and trainers.

This would be a pleasant change compares too listening to Todd Grissim or Michael Cole.

While Christian is injured have the peep show on the Superstars

Everyone loves Christian and now that he is injured everyone is annonyed so why don't WWE solve this problem by have him do the peep show on Superstars.

Its a good way for his popular to remain how it is now and a way for Vince to understand just how over Christian is with the crowd.

I know for fact that I would watch Christian just for the Peep Show.

They're are dozen's of more ways WWE could use this show to their advantage but they continue to make it boring and predictable witch is an awful waste.

Continuosly Producing Movies That Suck

8 of 9

Marine 1 starring Cena sucked.

So predictable it was unnatural and Cena cannot act to save his life.

Behind Enemy Lines with Kennedy sucked.

No real plot too it.

Marine 2 starring DiBiase sucked.

An improvement to the first one but still bad.

And apparently Legendary sucked too.

What is wrong with WWE and why are they continuosly making mistakes which is losing them money?

Soloution

  • Due to Adam Copelands brilliant on-screen antics portraying Edge did it never cross WWE's mind to have him as a star in one of their latest films.
  • WWE has had loads of actors doing the job of guest hosting RAW. Actors including Ashton Kutcher, Jeremy Piven, Freddie Prinze Jr and Wayne Brady. Could they not keep a good realtionship with any of these guys to ask them to feature in of their films.
  • Improve on their writers. Okay so I do establish the fact that money is not floating round like the way it was 5 years ago but come better writers is an obvious investment.

Horrible Tag Division With No Real Chemistry Or Passion Being Showed

9 of 9

Instead of going on a big rant this slide is all about giving soloutions to WWE Tag Team problem.

Do ye guys remember when Batista and Flair were Champion? Or when HBK and Cena were Champions?

Yes, I'm thinking ye do because they are all multi-Time World Champions.

Guys like Taker, HHH, Kane and Edge are all very popular so why not have some of these guys team up with younger stars to help put them over and also make the division seem stronger?

I'm a big fan of both Drew and Cody but I don't get it. Cody was looking closer to winning a solo title then shacking up with Vince's boyfriend.

If these two are Champions for 2+ months and look strong that would give the division more options witch is something terribley needed.

WWE have so many potential Tag Teams walking round its mad.

Here are some Tag Team possibilities:

  • Finlay and Hornswoggle. I'm not a big fan but come on they got history and can always manage to sneakly win a match. They are both on SmackDown. One problem is however, Dave Finlay is currently retired and has been for a while now.
  • Joey Mercury and Luke Gallows. Straight Edge Society is dead and gone but does that mean that these guys have to be also. CM Punk never properly accepted them so maybe they could make a Tag Team called Acceptance or something.
  • The Miz and Alex Reilly. Big fan of Reilly not so much The Miz but, because i'm not i am not going to bash him I will admit his agression is top class and his mic skills are graded A+ without doubt. But, I will also admit a World Title is not ready to be hanging of Miz's shoulder. This would give Reilly brilliant credibility.
  • Ezekiel Jackson, William Regal and Mark Henry (Heel). A return of ECW's "Ruthless Roundtable". I was a fan of Kozlov, Zek and Regal but I think Henry would fit in better and considering Zek is back to fitness after a spell on the sidelines well would this not be a brilliant way to see him return? In a dominant stable?

If WWE took them four tip and kept The Uso's, Hart Dynasty and Drew/Cody together then I think it would be a watchable part of either brand.

Quick Question: Do ye guys actully remember or watch Vlad, Zek and Regal in ECW as the Ruthless Roundtable?
