Rex Ryan Talks a Good Game, But New York Jets Coach's Show Louder Than His Go
The latest word from the New York Jets is the following utterance from head coach Rex Ryan:
"Quite honestly, I'm basically tired of dealing with these issues. I'm tired of the embarrassment to our owner and this organization. Let's just end it. Let's just stop. However severe or minor, we don't need to be that team."
Unfortunately for Ryan's credibility, this is complete and utter garbage. If Ryan wants to end the embarrassment to his team, he needs to take a stand with something more than empty words.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
First came his profanity problems on "Hard Knocks" for which he took a lot of flak. During the off season he acquired Antonio Cromartie and Santonio Holmes, both of whom carried with them significant baggage.
After those fiascoes came the Ines Sainz controversy which resulted in a rebuke from the NFL offices.
And now we have the Braylon Edwards DWI.
The Results
One would think Ryan would send a message and bench Edwards for his most recent transgressions. For a team as good as he claims the Jets are, a one-game de facto suspension wouldn't throw their season into ruins.
Yet Edwards is simply not going to start. In fact, sources have said that his punishment will be to receive slightly-below-normal playing time against the Miami Dolphins.
Way to send a message coach. He might as well have said: "Guys, if you screw up, I might sit you on the bench for one more play than normal. But don't worry, then I'll talk about it and make it seem as though I actually care that you screwed up."
Until Ryan shows that there is a bite to his bark, his words will remain a bunch of hot air.
