Miami Heat: What to Look For This Season From a Fan's Perspective
Miami Heat fans, Miami Heat haters, the wait is almost over. In a little over a month, the Heat will tip off the season in Boston against the veteran Celtics.
This epic free agent summer is finally concluding. The talks will continue for another month and then will cease.
It's then that the Heat will step on the court and back up all of their expectations and talk. Are they the real deal? Or will they implode?
Who knows, but this season is going to be exciting. There's no doubting that.
Here are a few things you can look for this season.
1. Can The Heat Stay Out Of Trouble?
1 of 5
For some reason or another, no matter what sport, mostly every time a team becomes great players have a hard time staying on good terms with the law.
This has already been the case with the Miami Heat, as long time Heat player and Miami native, Udonis Haslem, was arrested on marijuana charges. His charges have since been dropped, but speculation and hate for the Heat won't be so easy to fade away.
With the image of this team instantly tarnished as the "bad guys" since acquiring the three stars, everyone will be scrutinizing the organization and its players every chance they get.
One false move, and the Heat will find itself in negative headlines of newspapers all over the nation.
2. Highlight Reel Plays

Everyone knew as soon as Chris Bosh and LeBron James announced they were joining the Miami Heat that every game these three play will essentially become a highlight reel.
Whether you hate the Heat or whether you love them, you will be amazed by some of the stuff these guys do on the court this year.
It's inevitable. And if you're a hater, you will have a hard time suppressing your deep down excitement when watching these three on the floor.
Alley oops, creative passes, and thundering dunks will be a regular for Miami this year.
3. A Seat
3 of 5
Now that you know the amazing sights the Heat will put forth on the floor, there's something you need to make sure you can do if possible.
Find a ticket to a game.
Heat fans, good luck and get ready to dig deep in your wallets. With season tickets already sold out, local Miami fans will have a hard time finding decent seats to watch their home team play.
However, there are always options available through sites such as StubHub.
And if you're trying to get tickets to a game out of town, it's not much easier.
Or cheaper.
With myself being a student at Florida State University in Tallahassee, I've looked up options for Heat games in New Orleans and Atlanta.
On one site, Atlanta Hawks tickets that are normally sold for 12 dollars are 99 dollars when the Heat come to town.
So if you have the money and the time, do it. It will be a sight you will never forget.
4. Continued Hate From Other Fans
4 of 5
Another inevitable aspect of this one of a kind Heat team.
The haters will not stop once the season starts. If anything they will get worse.
Heat fans, thicken your skin and ignore it. If the Heat should every lose multiple games in a row, the haters will never let you hear the end of it.
And even when the Heat wins, the doubters and haters will still come up with excuses to try and taint any amount of Heat success.
5. Bandwagon Fans
5 of 5
Last, but definitely not least, get ready for the influx of bandwagon fans.
They've already been coming in flocks, and they will continue to pour their way into the Heat world. Like them or not, they will be good for the organization and South Florida economy.
Personally, I say if you weren't here during the down years, get out of here. I don't like the fact that because of all of these bandwagon fans, most of whom are rich, get all of the tickets so that someone like me, a loyal fan for years, has a hard time going to games.
However, complaining won't do anything and just accept it, Heat fans. That's part of winning and every team is the same.
