Fantasy Football NFL Week 1 Recap: Week 2 Waiver Wire Gems
Brandon Jackson, RB Green Bay Packers
Attention fantasy owners: this is your waiver wire pickup of the week. After Ryan Grant's horrific ankle & leg injuries in Week One that will sideline him through the remainder of the season, Jackson is the new lead pony of the potent Pack attack.
The former second-round pick out of Nebraska will look to solidify his roll in the offense as the team will be lined up against a miserable Buffalo team in Week Two. Jackson should have no problem finding some holes in the Detroit defense and could even find himself in the end zone when all is said and done.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Michael Vick, QB Philadelphia Eagles
I'm in a ten team keeper league and my fellow owners mocked me when I took Vick with my 11th round pick, but I'm feeling pretty good about it right about now. Even before starter Kevin Kolb had to exit (concussion), he looked lost running the offense and it's clear that the team played better with Vick on the field.
Looking like the guy we saw play with the Falcons in the early part of the decade, Vick rushed for 103 yards and threw for another 175 with a TD. Whichever way you look at it, his numbers spell production for fantasy owners. A good week at Detroit would go a long way in convincing Coach Andy Reid that he's the man.
Legedu Naanee, WR San Diego Chargers
Even though his TD came on a 59-yard bomb in blown coverage, Naanee did plenty to impress me on Monday night. The former Boise State product proved that he's plenty capable of stepping into the shoes of a no. 2 WR for the Chargers as he and Rivers appeared to be on the same page.
As Antonio Gates gets double teamed more and more throughout the season with the absence of Vincent Jackson, look for Naanee to find his way open and consistently produce for his owners. He's an immediate flex play option with WR2 upside if he can continue to separate himself against opposing corners.
Austin Collie, WR Indianapolis Colts
While Pierre Garcon may have been the consensus sleeper pick heading into the season, Collie made it clear with his 10-catch, 131 yard performance that he's certainly no slouch, either. Reminding us all truly how many weapons Peyton Manning has at his disposal, Collie looked very impressive in Week One.
He's got a tough matchup against a revamped Giants secondary in Week Two, but Collie should prove to be a consistent threat throughout the season so long as Manning continues to look his way. Owners should beware though, as no. 18 certainly does like to spread the ball around.
Darren McFadden, RB Oakland Raiders
The last time any of us saw Run DMF play like that was his last year at Arkansas. Senile owner Al Davis most likely jumped out of his rocker a few times when he saw his draft pick light up the field against the Titans.
Perhaps the only bright spot for the lowly Raiders, McFadden racked up 95 yards on 18 carries and added another 55 and a TD through the air on six receptions. With starter Michael Bush continuing to nurse a thumb injury, McFadden's role in the offense should increase even when Bush returns based on what we saw in week one. If he continues to play this way, he'll be an immediate flex option with upside, but that's a big if with Mr. McFadden.
