NXT Season 3 Will Be the Final Nail in the Coffin

Ian MaloneSep 8, 2010

I watched the NXT Season 3 premiere. I wish I hadn't, but I've never really been good with temptation.

I won't be making that mistake again.

The problem I have with NXT is that this is the make or break year for the show. SyFy hasn't shown any indication that it will pick up season 3. You'd think that WWE would maybe try and make an effort to get people to watch the show.

Nope.

Let's put aside the fact that this is an all divas cast for a second and let's look at the mentors. Vickie Guerrero was a unique and smart move and Goldust was fairly clever, but that's pretty much it. It also makes sense that Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox are part of the cast since the two are actually divas. But Primo? Are the Bella Twins the best that WWE could do?

Why why why?

Couldn't Laycool at least come back?

I know that the main eventers probably don't want anything to do with this show (I don't blame them). But WWE needed to at least attempt to come up with mentors that could attract people to watch this show. So far...they've failed to do it.

Let's move on to the more pressing issue. These divas haven't shown us that they are capable of having matches that come even close to the mediocre quality that most of the rookie matches from seasons one and two showed us. I'm not surprised seeing as WWE doesn't even give its main Divas matches. Why dedicate a full show to a roster that no one is told to care about?

Vince McMahon promised us the next big thing in TV with NXT. No, I didn't actually believe him, but I also didn't think that it would be this bad either.

NXT is leaving TV soon. I don't think we've been given any reason to care if it stays or not.
