Breaking News: Philadelphia Eagles Add Depth With Antoine Harris
The Philadelphia Eagles have added yet another safety to the roster, a young veteran formerly of the Atlanta Falcons, Antoine Harris—details of the contract are not yet available.
Harris is a five year veteran in the NFL playing for two different teams in that time.
As a 2005 undrafted free agent out of the Universtiy of Louisville, Harris was picked up by the Tennessee Titans where he remained from 2005-06 and spent his time on the practice squad—if he wasn't being released and then resigned by the team.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Finally on January 10, 2007, Harris was signed to the Atlanta Falcons and appeared in a total of 25 games from then to present time, recorded 13 tackles, and a pass defended.
He does come with baggage though.
On December 9, 2009 he was placed on IR by the Falcons for a groin injury and also suffered a season ending knee injury just a few weeks later on December 21.
Harris reminds me of another experiment player the Eagles brought in for the 2009 campaign named Sean Jones—he is a veteran player in the league but I don't expect much from him.
There are a couple of contributing factors in my thought.
First, the Eagles just signed their second round draft pick, safety Nate Allen, who is now at camp focusing on how he can contribute in the 2010 season.
Allen is expected to bring a level of play to the Eagles' defense worthy of being a starting caliber safety in the NFL.
Next, there was a camp sleeper at the safety position in Kurt Coleman, who the defensive coordinator has placed a lot of praise upon for his efforts so far.
Coleman missed the teams mini camps and OTAs because of his school's (Ohio State) graduation date, however he seems to have quickly picked up the pieces and had a very impressive start to camp.
With those things in mind, Harris could come in and be a quality backup safety in the event Nate Allen goes down. He could also be a quality contributor on special teams—a unit every Eagle player must be good at in order to succeed.
I don't see much from Harris in terms of production, especially based off of his prior record, but it is always nice to have a decent backup on the roster.
