Fantasy Rankings 2010: Wide Receivers
Bryan BrackneyJul 1, 2010
- Andre Johnson - Johnson is in the prime of his career, which can't be good for opposing defenses. Luckily we're fantasy owners.
- Randy Moss - Don't expect another huge season for Moss because opposing defenses will be focusing on him, but on the other hand, so will Brady.
- Calvin Johnson - Johnson should get more open looks with defenses now having more serious options to cover besides Johnson.
- Miles Austin - A romance with Kim Kardashian is leading many fantasy owners to pick Austin first overall.
- Roddy White - The return of Michael Turner will keep defenses on their heels, which means the play action pass to White is back.
- Brandon Marshall - Chad Henne will be a better distributor than Kyle Ortan was. Marshall's natural talent is pretty incredible.
- Larry Fitzgerald - Fitzgerald's stock goes down after the Cardinals lost Kurt Warner, but I think Matt Leinart is the real deal.
- DeSean Jackson - Jackson averaged 125 yards when Kolb was the Eagles starter in 2009. That's a higher average than when McNabb was quarterback.
- Marques Colston - Drew Brees is a yards machine, and Colston should be more consistent after recovering from nagging injuries in 2009.
- Sidney Rice - If Brett Favre does not return, Rice's stock could go down. Luckily Brett Favre can't retire.
- Reggie Wayne - Wayne now has three other younger wide receivers fighting for catches, plus Dallas Clark.
- Steve Smith (CAR) - The arm injury really scares me, but who else can Matt Moore throw to.
- Greg Jennings - Jennings had a rough season in 2009, but he finished the season strong, and has more time to connect with Aaron Rodgers.
- Vincent Jackson - I have him ranked too high, but if he gets traded he could do some damage.
- Anquan Boldin - Boldin moves out of Larry Fitzgerald's shadow and becomes a team's number one receiver.
- Steve Smith (NYG) - Smith is a reception machine and a great third down option. He ranks higher in PPR leagues.
- Chad Ochocinco - A lot of people don't like Chad Ochocinco for the 2010 season. I'm about 50-50. Be careful about drafting him.
- Hakeem Nicks - Hakeem Nicks will fill the role of Plaxico Burress for the Giants offense.
- Mike Sims-Walker - Sims-Walker provided the Jaguars passing attack with a spark lat season.
- Dwayne Bowe - I have him higher than most do, but I think Cassel and the Chiefs offense will have a bounce-back season.
- Jeremy Maclin - Maclin should only get better in his second season playing in the Eagles West Coast offense.
- Michael Crabtree - Crabtree has not even played a full NFL season.
- Percy Harvin - I leagues that have kick/punt returning points Harvin has even more value.
- Braylon Edwards - He can surprise people...... If he gets his drops under control.
- Hines Ward - My deal with Hines Ward is that he is just too old for me to take him any higher than 25.
- Santana Moss - the addition of Donovan McNabb and a stable offensive line could mean a big payday for the Redskins and fantasy owners.
- Devin Aromashodu - This is kind of just a gut feeling pick, but my gut feeling is that Devin Aromashodu will develop into a good receiver.
- Mike Wallace - The loss of Holmes helps his value, but losing Colon and Roethlisberger will certainly hurt it.
- Lee Evans - This guy seems to disappoint year-after-year
- Pierre Garcon - Garcon enters his third season playing with Peyton Manning, which means he has a pretty strong knowledge of the Colts complex schemes.
- Dez Bryant
- Derrick Mason
- Kenny Britt
- Devin Hester
- Robert Meachem
- Antonio Bryant
- Steve Breaston
- Donald Driver
- T.J. Houshmanzadeh
- Malcolm Floyd
- Santonio Holmes
- Deymarius Thomas
- Nate Burleson
- Devin Thomas
- Jacoby Jones
- Johnny Knox
- Mohasmmad Massaquoi
- Julian Edleman
- Chaz Schillens
- Wes Welker
