Believing Michael Vick Was Not Involved in Shooting Fails the Logic Test
Okay, let's examine the facts here and you can form your own opinion as to whether you believe that Michael Vick was not involved in, nor had no knowledge of, the shooting that took place following his birthday celebration in Virginia Beach last week.
First, the man who was shot just coincidentally happened to be Quanis Phillips, a co-defendant in the dogfighting case that sent Vick to federal prison.
Second, Vick says he "left the restaurant prior to it occurring and did not witness what happened." Which is technically true, but there is apparently a disconnect regarding the timing of his leaving and the incident.

Vick's attorney, Larry Woodward, said Vick left the party at least 10 minutes, and perhaps as many as 20, before the shooting took place.
However, time-stamped footage from a surveillance camera outside the entrance of the club shows a car with Vick inside leaving about four minutes before the shooting.
If Vick was innocent, why lie?
Next, the car that Vick was in just happened to be traveling in the direction of the shooting, as he was leaving.
Now, I'm not suggesting that Vick shot this man. But to suggest that this was all merely a coincidence is simply too far-fetched and does not pass the sniff test.
Look, this man is a guy who allowed dogs to be brutally murdered on his property, with his knowledge, and did not think twice about it.
Of course, there is a difference, at least to those of us not associated with PETA, between animals and humans.
Still, the victim helped put Vick in jail. I don't know about you, but that is one heck of a coincidence.
Look, this is not simply a case of whether Vick should be punished by the NFL. No, it goes much deeper than that.
It is a question of whether Vick was complicit in a shooting.
We don't know for sure, and it's easy for people to say Vick is being unfairly targeted because of who is he and what he has done.
But it is precisely who he is and what he has done that makes his guilt all too believable.
Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and that is the way it should be.
But you'll have to forgive me for not believing in coincidences.
