DeShaun Thomas Lost in Sullinger Hoopla
The headliner in Ohio State's 2010 recruiting class is Jared "Big Sully" Sullinger. And why shouldn't he be? The 6'9", 260-pound manchild has ballerina feet and a sixth sense around the rim. His range on his jump shot extends to the arc and he is a ferocious rebounder.
But OSU fans and opposing teams shouldn't sleep on his good buddy and 2010 Indiana Mr. Basketball winner DeShaun Thomas. Thomas is an interesting player. He stands about 6'6" and weighs around 215 pounds. However, he is a hybrid forward with an affinity for action around the basket.
Thomas' game revolves around the painted area. Whether that's using one of his many post moves, crashing the offensive glass or knocking down a jumper, Thomas has a very polished offensive game.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Third on the all-time scoring list in Indiana high school basketball history, Thomas was a scoring machine his entire high school career. While his jump shot is flat at times and tends to be a bit inaccurate from three-point range, by no means should he struggle there in college.
He'll remind Buckeye basketball fans of a better version of Sullinger's older brother J.J., who played at OSU from 2002-2006. Since he'll likely be one of the first guys off the bench for a deep Buckeye squad, Thomas will eliciting "oooohs" and "ahhhs" from the paid customers at the Schott in no time.
Coach Matta will love his ability to guard multiple positions, which could potentially increase his playing time. Thomas has been non-commital about being a one-and-done, so it will be interesting to see if he garners enough playing time for scouts to accurately grade his talent.
Regardless, Thomas will play a big role on a team that has a lot to replace after losing National Player of the Year Evan Turner to the pros.
