It was an exciting basketball season for Michigan State Spartan basketball fans last year.

The injuries.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
Chris Allen's arch during NCAA tournament time.
Delvon Roe's knees since he arrived in East Lansing.
And Kalin Lucas .
Well, Sparty's floor general had two ankle-related tiffs last year.
There is good news though.
There hasn't been any report on Allen's arch. No news is good news in that department, and it's likely not a problem for him any longer.
Roe underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in mid-April, and is on the fast road to recovery, according to coach Tom Izzo. He described Roe's attitude as "being on cloud nine" after the procedure and years of agonizing, pesky knee pain.
Roe, who will be a junior next season, exhibited flashes of brilliance in the Spartans' tournament run in March.
His physical play and ability to crash the boards was hindered by his knee ailment. For Spartan fans, a healthy Roe means a couple of things:
1. Michigan State will continue to be a crash-the-glass-operation. Roe's athletic prowess got him by in 2009-10, but there were moments when his play was noticeably sub-par due to his chronic knee pain.
2. Same reason as No. 1. The Izzo clan is notorious for being hard-nosed. Big Ten teams get a dose of that twice a year (usually) from the team out of East Lansing.
When it's all said and done, the green-and-white faithful can look forward to Roe becoming the player he was meant to be—a dominating one.
With Lucas' injury, the speculation goes both ways.
What if he re-aggravates his ruptured Achilles? A tendon that is healing much fast than Izzo anticipated.
Another problem with his ankle would be a bittersweet ending to what has been a spectacular college tenure.
It's been reported that Lucas could return to the hardwood as early as late July if his healing process continues its rapid pace.
That's more than good news for Spartan fans.
The other side of Lucas' healing coin is one of cautious optimism.
Yes, a speedy recovery is wished upon him. But not too speedy. The worst thing that could happen to the Spartans is a premature return resulting in a preseason injury.
Take it "Too Easy," Lucas. The quoted time for his Achilles' surgery was four to six months. He's ahead of schedule by about a month and a half.
Hoping for the best is all Michigan State supporters can do right now.
And that's not just pertaining to injuries.
With the arrival of next season's "super class," there is cause for elation in East Lansing.
Adreian Payne, Russell Byrd, Alex Gauna, and Keith Appling (Mr. Basketball-Detroit Pershing) are one of the most anticipated, sought-after group of recruits in recent memory.
And keep in mind the maturation of Durrell Summers, Draymond Green, and Korie Lucious—all vital pieces of Michigan State's well-oiled machine.
A run to the Final Four in Houston shouldn't just be hoped for—it should be expected.
Here is the bad news though: Purdue's E'Twaun Moore could be returning for his senior year in West Lafayette.
