2010 NFL Draft: The New England Patriots Prospect List for the First Four Rounds
April 14, 2010
Here we go, just over a week until Round One of the 2010 NFL Draft, and the Patriots are set to make some noise in in the first two rounds as they hold four picks in the top 55 (22nd, 44th, 47th, and 53rd). They also have trade bait with the Raiders' first round selection next year should they want to move up in this year's draft.
What will they do with these picks? No one is totally sure, but I have a feeling that they will use a majority of their picks to help shore up a defense that was spotty at times last season.
The Patriots biggest needs: OLB, TE, DE, WR, ILB, RB, and CB.
Here are some prospects that the Patriots will have a shot at drafting.
First Round, 22nd pick : Sergio Kindle, OLB; Brandon Graham, OLB; Sean Witherspoon, ILB; Jerry Hughes, OLB
Second Round, 44th pick : Alex Carrington, DE; Cory Wootten, DE; Sean Lee, ILB
Second Round, 47th pick : Terrance Cody, DT; Rob Gronkowski, TE; Brandon Ghee, CB; Eric Norwood OLB
Second Round, 53rd pick : Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, CB; Eric Decker, WR; Ben Tate RB
Fourth Round, 119th pick : Jordan Shipley WR; Brandon Spikes, ILB
There is a possibility that the Patriots trade one of their second rounders to move down or for picks in next year's draft. Let me know what you think.
