My Future Town Rocks: Orlando, Florida

What's the theme park capital of the world? Where is there a place that a family wants to go to? I will tell you that it's Orlando, Florida.

I will be moving down there in August and I have been there before, several times.

It's a dream come true for any child to come to Orlando for a vacation.

Walt Disney World opened in nearby Lake Buena Vista in 1971. It has become an international destination since. It has four parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. It also has two waterparks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. They also have hotels and a campground on their property. The parks are listed in the top 10 for the most visited, with Magic Kingdom on top of that list. It is also the number one employer in the world!

We also have Universal Studios in Florida. It has grown to also include the Islands of Adventure and Citywalk. Universal opened in 1990. They are the main competitor to Disney.

Sea World also has a location here in Orlando. That park opened in 1973 and yes, the park has two coasters called Kraken and Journey to Atlantis.

Orlando also has a few pro sports teams. The Orlando Magic play in the NBA and the Orlando Predators play in the AFL. The closest NFL teams are in Tampa and Jacksonville. The closest MLB team is in Tampa. The closest NHL team is in Tampa.

Though Orlando only has two pro teams, they do have the sports atmosphere that the other cities have. Disney has the Wide World of Sports complex, where the Atlanta Braves play their exhibition games at and Tampa Bay Rays have hosted a few home games at the ballpark. They also have a race track, where the IRL have raced there a few times. Orlando also hosts two bowl game a year, the Capital One Bowl and the Champ Sports Bowl.

If you have not been to Orlando yet, make sure it is one of your top vacation spots before you die. You would love it and never want to go back home!
