Lamar Jackson's Message to Ravens Revealed in NFL Rumors amid Injury, Return Buzz and Losing Streak
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is aiming to return during the 2026 NFL season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport reported that Jackson spoke to the team and delivered an "energizing" and "exciting" message. The overall theme was to "just stay alive" until he's healthy enough to be back on the field.
The Ravens are last in the AFC North at 4-5 following Thursday's 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The combined absences of Jackson and Tyler Huntley were glaring as third-stringer Joe Fagnano threw for 60 yards and two interceptions on 18 attempts.
Jackson has unfortunately had another injury-riddled year.
After playing the first three games of the year, he missed three games because of a high ankle sprain, returning to action on Nov. 1 against the Buffalo Bills. His return was brief, however, as he suffered a thumb injury on the Ravens' first offensive drive.
The injury required surgery, and the two-time MVP was placed on the injured reserve immediately after the game.
Huntley came in for Jackson after his injury, but he was forced to exit soon after because of a turf toe injury.
A day after the Jaguars loss, Baltimore acquired Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals. Brissett is a significant upgrade from Fagnano and may be enough for the team to keep its head above water in the weeks ahead.
It's clear Jackson isn't throwing away the rest of the season, and that attitude is bound to spread to the rest of the locker room.
