NFL 2010 Fantasy Football Dynasty Rankings: Tight End
Fantasy KnuckleheadsFeb 16, 2010
Dynasty and keeper leagues require a slightly different mindset than standard leagues. You’re playing for keeps, long term.
That said, it’s important to consider how many players you actually get to keep each year in assessing a player’s value when it comes time to make a cut, or when draft day rolls around.
The tight end is tough position to make an argument for keeping, even in a dynasty league. Each season only the top three or four players at the position score well enough to warrant consideration, and then only at the equivalent of a low-end No. 1 or high-end No. 2 wide receiver.
| RANK | PLAYER | TEAM | AGE | ONE-LINER |
Dallas Clark | IND | 30 | Continues to flourish with Peyton at QB.
Jason Witten | DAL | 27 | Off-year; should rebound nicely in 2010
Antonio Gates | SDG | 29 | You could put him at one or two as well.
Vernon Davis | SFO | 26 | Solid chemistry with Alex Smith helps.
Jermichael Finley | GBP | 22 | Freakish skills but will be overhyped this year.
Brent Celek | PHI | 25 | Could be top five this season; McNabb loves him.
Tony Gonzalez | ATL | 33 | A healthy Matt Ryan should boost his stats.
Kellen Winslow | TBB | 26 | Fourth in targets in '09 with QB carousel.
Owen Daniels | HOU | 27 | IF healthy he goes here; monitor his rehab.
Greg Olsen | CHI | 24 | Top five skills, poor supporting cast.
Heath Miller | PIT | 25 | If Big Ben stays pass-happy, he’s gold at TE.
John Carlson | SEA | 27 | Needs O-line help and a healthy Hasselbeck.
Chris Cooley | WAS | 27 | Solid pick. Shanahan should boost value.
Dustin Keller | NYJ | 25 | Ranking based more on promise and hope.
Vinsanthe Shiancoe | MIN | 29 | If Favre retires, his value drops big-time.
Zach Miller | OAK | 24 | Big jump with any QB not named JaMarcus.
Jared Cook | TEN | 22 | Best TE in Tennessee (sleeper alert).
Jeremy Shockey | NOS | 29 | Saints offense means he’s always a threat.
Kevin Boss | NYG | 26 | Poor yardage but always a red-zone threat.
Todd Heap | BAL | 29 | A decent No. 2 TE option with Flacco at QB.
Fred Davis | WAS | 24 | Moves up several spots if Cooley gets moved.
Brandon Pettigrew | DET | 24 | May not be ready for the start of the season.
Bo Scaife | TEN | 29 | May move this offseason.
Ben Watson | NEP | 29 | A better Brady means a better Watson.
Marcedes Lewis | JAX | 25 | Without a better QB, he’s hit or miss.
