Houston Texans Fans Must Admit This Season Has Been Entertaining
If you are a Houston Texans fan, you have seen this franchise struggle to go up and down from mediocre to putrid for eight years now.
What you haven't seen before this season is an entertaining football team that makes every Sunday afternoon enjoyable.

How many games have the Texans lost by double digits this year? ONCE
What is our goal in watching football or other sports? To be entertained.
I believe the Texans have succeeded this year. Let's review the season in order of least entertaining to most.
One Stinker
Week one vs. the Jets 7-24. I'd rather not think about this one. However, that game looks rather important now, no?
One Sexy Rexy Showing
Week 13 at the Jags 18-23. That one was rather deflating to complete the four game losing streak, but we did have chances to win at the end.
One "Maybe We Can Switch Divisions" Steamroll
Week 12 vs. the Colts 27-35. At least it was fun to take a big lead over the Colts. Hold out hope for a rematch in the playoffs.
Three Blowouts of Bad Teams
Raiders 29-6, Seahawks 34-7, and Bills 31-10. After years of being creamed by superior opponents, seeing a few blowouts was certainly entertaining. The Bills game even included a fourth quarter comeback.
Four "What Can Brown Do For You?" Heartbreaks
Jags 24-31, Cardinals 21-28, Colts 17-20, and Titans 17-20. Even in stomach punch losses, I remember thinking about how good those games were.
Three "We aren't Really Going to Blow This, are we?" Nailbiters
49ers 24-21, Rams 16-13 and, Dolphins 27-20. We can debate the merit of these victories, but they were still victories. I would rather not stress over the ending, but they are still more entertaining than a Seahawks blowout.
One "We May Have a Team" Victory
Week six at the Bengals 28-17. This one was especially fun because the defense really turned a corner that week.
One Shootout Victory Against the Archrival
Week two at the Titans 34-31. What a fun game this was! We knew that we had not lost our potent passing game (the running game is still MIA) and we knew then that this year's team was different.
And last but not least:
One Game Against the Team of the Decade with a Playoff Spot on the Line
Other things we have seen
We've seen Andre Johnson cement himself as Houston's favorite athlete since Hakeem Olajuwon with plays like this .
We've seen Matt Schaub play his heart out, make incredible passes, and yet show flaws. If you think of literature, he makes a great protagonist.
We've seen Brian Cushing and Bernard Pollard join a suddenly physical defense. Frank Bush has not gotten enough credit for the last 10 weeks.
We've seen that individual success lead to four Pro Bowlers; a record for the Texans.
We've seen just about every kind of game that we could see.
You may be disappointed by the win-loss record and the Texans could still end up with another 8-8 season, but on the other hand, you haven't had the opportunity to hope for playoffs in the last game of the season in franchise history.
Whether you are happy about having the chance to make the playoffs Sunday (we may have ten plus hours of watching and hoping), or you want Gary Kubiak fired, you have to admit that it's been entertaining and isn't that the goal?
