Updated 2021 NFL Draft Order After Sunday's Week 8 Results
The New York Jets are halfway to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
The Jets fell to 0-8 on Sunday with their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, and the second half of their schedule does not suggest they are in line for many wins.
The competition for the top selection may come down to the two New York teams, as the Giants are expected to drop to 1-7 on Monday following their home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans, whose first-round pick goes to the Miami Dophins, are the only teams tied with the Giants on one win.
Most of the draft's first 10 picks will be up for grabs in the second half of the season, with reshuffling happening every week. After Sunday's Week 8 games, seven teams have two wins, and three more possess a trio of victories.

The Jets were not expected to have much of a chance on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
Those predictions were spot on since the Chiefs were up by double digits at halftime and were never threatened by Adam Gase's side.
New York's nine-point performance marked the third time this season it finished with a single-digit point total. It mustered 10 points in two other losses. In fact, the Jets have not put up more than 10 points in each of the past four weeks. They were outscored 107-29 in that span.
In Week 9, the Jets will be in the national spotlight against the New England Patriots, who are one of four 2-5 teams.
When the season began, no one expected the Patriots to be mentioned in the same breath as the Washington Football Team, Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Chargers close to the halfway mark.
Bill Belichick's team is more used to being mentioned alongside the Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City, but that does not appear to be in the cards this season.
The Patriots are 3.5 games back of Buffalo in the AFC East and are short on the tiebreaker from their head-to-head loss Sunday. While it is possible for New England to win a few games, the chances of them finishing with a top-10 pick appear to be higher than its playoff potential.
The Atlanta Falcons and Cincinnati Bengals joined the two-win club in Week 8, but the Bengals' victory affected the draft order more.
Since the Bengals own a tie from Week 3, they moved beneath every other two-win team because of their better winning percentage. The tie could come back to haunt the Bengals if they win one or two more contests since they would be placed behind any franchise with the same amount of wins unless another tie occurs.
The Carolina Panthers are not in front of Cincinnati yet, but they could get there in the coming weeks if they continue their losing ways.
The Panthers appear to be the team with the best chance to improve their draft position over the next few weeks. Matt Rhule's team is on a three-game losing streak and plays Kansas City and Tampa Bay in Weeks 9 and 10, respectively.
Carolina and a few others could see their draft spots improve after Week 9 since a handful of teams with losing records go head-to-head.
One-win sides Houston and Jacksonville are set to meet, while Atlanta hosts Denver and Minnesota welcomes Detroit to U.S. Bank Stadium.
If the Broncos and Lions win their respective games, they will cut a clear gap between themselves and the top-10 contenders, but if the Vikings and Falcons come out on top, another significant rearrangement would occur.
