Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen Dual Autograph Patch Card Auctions for $295.2K
A dual-signed Logoman game-used patch card featuring autographs from NBA legends Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen sold for $295,200 via Goldin Auctions.
The original $100,000 minimum bid was raised to its final price after 11 total offers.
A description of the item reads in part:
"Michael Jordan has penned a splendid blue ink signature at the left side on the obverse of this ultra-premium collectible, and his longtime, indispensable Chicago Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen has added his own robust name scripting to the right. The amazing memento's cardfront presentation also incorporates a pair of bright 'Logo Man' game-worn jersey patch relics attributed to the revered superstars. A congratulatory statement on the card's back attests to the authenticity of the signatures and genuineness of the patch components and serves as Upper Deck's COA."
Jordan and Pippen played together from 1987 to 1993 and then 1994 to 1998 for the Chicago Bulls, winning six championships. They earned a pair of three-peats from 1991 to 1993 and again in 1996-1998.
Jordan and Pippen led the 1995-96 Bulls to a 72-10 record, marking the first time an NBA team had reached 70 wins in a season. Their regular-season victory record held firm for 20 years until the Golden State Warriors went 73-9 in 2015-16.
The Bulls were dismantled after the 1997-98 season. Jordan retired for three years before playing two final seasons with the Washington Wizards. Pippen played six more seasons and ended his career back with the Bulls in 2003-04.
Jordan finished his career as a 10-time scoring champion, 11-time All-NBA player, five-time regular-season MVP and six-time Finals MVP, among many other accolades. Pippen made seven All-NBA teams and 10 All-Defensive teams.
The pair also won an Olympic goal medal for Team USA men's basketball in the 1992 Summer Olympics as members of the Dream Team.
