Anonymous Scout Says Jerry Jeudy Has More Superstar Potential Than Burrow, Young
Most mock drafts have homed in on quarterback Joe Burrow and edge-rusher Chase Young as the clear Nos. 1 and 2 picks, respectively, when the first round kicks off on April 23. One NFL scout, however, feels there's even more of a "can't miss" prospect who currently figures to fall outside of the top 10.
Bob McGinn of The Athletic surveyed numerous NFL scouts anonymously and found one who thinks the steal of the draft will be wideout Jerry Jeudy from Alabama.
"He has more of that superstar potential than anyone," the scout said. "Just a phenomenal route-runner. Explosive. Just makes things happen."

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
In his latest prospect ranking, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller pegged Jeudy as the No. 5 player overall and the top athlete at his position. Miller notes he's the best route-runner and the best "Day 1 starter." Only cornerback Jeff Okudah, edge Chase Young and quarterback Joe Burrow scored higher than the former Alabama star.
Another scout McGinn spoke with said he was good during team interviews. Perhaps the only downside McGinn could find came from a scout who declared inserting Jeudy as a top receiver is a misuse of his talents, stating that he's best suited in the slot, where he can expose gaps in coverage:
"If you draft him to be your No. 1 and you put him at X and they have a 6-1 corner rolled up in his face with a safety over the top and a linebacker buzzing from inside, life can be a heck of a lot different. All his game is instincts, getting in and out of breaks. It'll knock your socks off against Southern Miss and New Mexico State. If you're set everywhere and you just need a slot guy, he's like a luxury pick."
That last line may be the most telling.
For a team already operating as a contender, Jeudy could be a guy who puts an offense over the top. That would make him more valuable to some franchises over the likes of Burrow or Young. There just aren't too many clubs who fit that mold.
The San Francisco 49ers own the 13th overall pick and could look to grab him, but as the scout notes, that would be a luxury.
Finding a perfect fit for Jeudy could be the key to unlocking his talent in the pros. Whether that makes him the steal of the first round will depend entirely on which team takes him.
