Klay Thompson's Brother Trayce Claimed by A's Off Yankees Waivers
The New York Yankees announced Thursday that they lost outfielder Trayce Thompson to the Oakland Athletics on waivers.
New York claimed Thompson off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, but he never appeared in a game for the Bronx Bombers.
Thompson is the younger brother of Golden State Warriors All-Star guard Klay Thompson.

The Yankees claimed Thompson due to outfield depth issues with Aaron Hicks, Jacoby Ellsbury and Billy McKinney all on the disabled list.
Thompson became expendable Wednesday, however, when the Yanks acquired utilityman Cody Asche in a deal with the Kansas City Royals.
The 27-year-old Thompson appeared in 27 games for the Dodgers last season, hitting .122 with one home run and two RBI.
His best MLB season came in 2016 when he hit .225 with 13 homers, 32 RBI and five stolen bases.
