Johnny Manziel Rips Browns, Says Team Didn't Do Homework on Him Before Draft
Johnny Manziel appeared on The Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday and said he wasn't prepared to run a pro offense when the Cleveland Browns drafted him in 2014.
"If Cleveland did any of their homework, they would have known I wasn't a guy who came in every day and [watched] film," he said, according to Andrew Perloff. "I wasn't a guy who really knew the X's and O's of football."
Manziel added that he didn't have the proper resources at his disposal to make strides in that area:

"Johnny Manziel tells @dpshow that he didn't understand pro offense coming out of Texas A&M's spread and there was no one in the Browns quarterback room to help him.

He later provided a further explanation on Twitter, along with a message:
Manziel's comments come amid a comeback tour that has included throwing sessions at Texas A&M and University of San Diego pro days over the past two weeks.
He's also participating in The Spring League scouting showcase in Austin, Texas, where he is scheduled to suit up in two games for the South team to try to accelerate his NFL return.
Manziel's first game will kick off at 5:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, while the second is scheduled for April 12 at 6:30 p.m.
"I have to have a step forward after being away from football for two years," Manziel said Wednesday. "This is step one on getting back to where I need to be, even though it's not the exact equivalent of where I want to be."
