Rob GoldbergApr 2, 2018

Villanova completed its impressive season with its second national championship in the last three years, earning a 79-62 win over Michigan in the final Monday night.

There was plenty of excitement on the court immediately at the final buzzer:

This euphoria continued with the players entering the stands and celebrating with each other and their families and fans:

Arash Markazi of ESPN showed the overall pandemonium on the court after the win:

Jay Wright was finally able to lift the national title for the second time in his career:

CBS Sports also captured a unique moment during the celebration:

Donte DiVincenzo was the hero in the finals, helping the Wildcats jump out in front with an 18-point first half before finishing with a career-high 31 points. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.

AP National Player of the Year Jalen Brunson had an unusually quiet game, struggling with foul trouble while finishing 4-of-13 from the field, but the rest of the team picked up the slack to complete a dominant victory.

Phil Booth had the honor of advancing Villanova on the official bracket:

The team won all six NCAA tournament games by at least 10 points, with an average margin of victory of 17.7. Per ESPN Stats and Info, this was the second-highest mark in the modern era behind only North Carolina in 2009 and Duke in 2001.

With plenty of young players like DiVincenzo, Omari Spellman and others, Villanova could remain in contention next season, hoping to win its fourth title in 2019. However, the squad can enjoy the moment with an incredible run to a championship.
