The Villanova Wildcats and Michigan Wolverines advanced to 2018 NCAA men's basketball tournament final in different fashions.
Jay Wright's Wildcats bludgeoned opponents from the three-point line, while the Wolverines methodically went about their business and won low-scoring affairs.
Monday's National Championship provides bettors with a few intriguing decisions given the trends during the Big Dance.

Villanova is not afraid to light up the scoreboard. Michigan likes to flex its defensive muscle while knocking down clutch shots when needed.
Even the selection for Most Outstanding Player is a hard one to make since each team possesses a few quality players, not just one superstar capable of carrying it to the title.

Predictions
The safe bet to make for Monday's contest involves picking Villanova to cover and Jalen Brunson as the Most Outstanding Player.

Villanova has won by double digits in each of its five previous NCAA tournament games this year, and there is a good chance it will do the same if it shoots the lights out from three-point range.
If Michigan is your pick to cover, expect a tight-knit affair with not a ton of scoring, which puts the under into play.
Outside of a 99-point outburst against Texas A&M in the Sweet 16, Michigan hasn't reached 70 points in the Big Dance.
Since the start of March, Michigan has participated in two games in which more than 145 points were scored, with its Sweet 16 triumph being one of them.

Three of Villanova's five NCAA tournament contests hit over 145 points, as did three of its past four Big East games, with the lone exception coming in the Big East tournament final.
If you are looking for something more exotic when it comes to the Most Outstanding Player prop bet, there are a few intriguing options on the Villanova roster.
Although Brunson is the point guard and top player the Wildcats have in the eyes of many, he isn't the only one capable of taking over big games.
As we saw in the Final Four, Eric Paschall led the Wildcats with 24 points, as he made 10 of his 11 field goals.
Four other Wildcats worked their way into double digits to join Brunson and Paschall, which opens the door for any one of the six players to steal the spotlight against Michigan.
If you want a value pick, Donte DiVincenzo and Omari Spellman are your best bets, as both proved throughout the season they are integral to Villanova's success.
DiVincenzo scored in double digits on three occasions in the NCAA tournament, and he has 12 three-pointers during that span.

Spellman burst into the spotlight in the Sweet 16 win over West Virginia with 18 points, 12 of which came from three-point range.
From the Michigan perspective, it is surprising to see Moritz Wagner have the third-best odds of any Wolverines player to win Most Outstanding Player given his importance to John Beilein's team.
Wagner, who had 24 points and 15 rebounds, is a no-brainer to take at his odds, especially since he is going to be at the forefront of Michigan's offensive game plan.
Charles Matthews isn't a terrible selection, either, since he has produced consistent numbers in March Madness, with 17 or more points in four games.
However, selecting a Michigan player is going to be tough to justify given the Wildcats' well-rounded nature, a trait that should push the 2016 national champion back to the top of men's college basketball.
Predictions: Villanova -6.5, Over 145, DiVincenzo as Most Outstanding Player.
