March Madness 2018: Final Bracket, NCAA Title Game Odds and Predictions

David McCrackenApr 1, 2018

The national championship game is set after No. 1 Villanova and No. 3 Michigan advanced through the Final Four with flying colors for the right to call themselves the best team in college basketball.

While it's been a long month for both teams considering the end of the regular season, conference tournaments and then the NCAA tournament, both the Wildcats and Wolverines will be running on adrenaline this Monday in the grand finale.

The game is set to tip off at 9:20 p.m. ET and will be televised on TBS. The live stream of the national championship game is available here

Now that just two teams remain from the field of 64, here's a quick look at the final bracket heading into Monday's title game:

Predictions

In Saturday's Final Four showdowns, the Wolverines and Wildcats won in impressive fashion. Michigan held No. 11 Loyola-Chicago's high-flying offense to 57 points en route to a 69-57 victory, while Villanova put on a show against No. 1 Kansas, dismantling the Wildcats in every facet of the game en route to a 95-79 win.

Villanova hasn't slipped up once this tournament, so it's no wonder why the Wildcats are currently listed as a 6.5-point favorite over the Wolverines, according to OddsShark.

Villanova's defense came through when it needed to against Kansas, but something must be said about the Wildcats' ability to put the ball through the basket.

Six players scored in double digits for Villanova, including four players scoring at least 15 points. For all the hype that Jalen Brunson (18 points) and Mikal Bridges (10 points) getand deservedly sothere is still one player who deserves more of the limelight in Eric Paschall, who scored 24 points against Kansas in the Final Four.

Not to be outdone for the Wolverines, center Moritz Wagner recorded an outstanding 24 points and 15 rebounds against the Ramblers on Saturday to guide Michigan to victory.

Wagner's individual brilliance, however, won't be enough for the Wolverines against a versatile team like Villanova.

Michigan will keep it close early in the first half with some hot shooting, but it won't take long for the Wildcats to find their stroke from deep and start playing lockdown defense like they have been for the majority of March.

Prediction: Villanova 76-62 Michigan
